9So the Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh left the Israelites in Shiloh in the land of Canaan and headed home to their own land in Gilead, which they acquired by the LORD’s command through Moses.
10Civil War is Averted The Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh came to Geliloth near the Jordan in the land of Canaan and built there, near the Jordan, an impressive altar.
11The Israelites received this report:“Look, the Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh have built an altar at the entrance to the land of Canaan, at Geliloth near the Jordan on the Israelite side.”
12When the Israelites heard this, the entire Israelite community assembled at Shiloh to launch an attack against them.

28Phinehas son of Eleazar, son of Aaron, was serving the LORD in those days),“Should we once more march out to fight the Benjaminites our brothers, or should we quit?” The LORD said,“Attack, for tomorrow I will hand them over to you.”

29Moses said to them:“If the Gadites and the Reubenites cross the Jordan with you, each one equipped for battle in the LORD’s presence, and you conquer the land, then you must allot them the territory of Gilead as their possession.
5So a thousand from every tribe, twelve thousand armed for battle in all, were provided out of the thousands of Israel.
6Campaign Against the Midianites So Moses sent them to the war, one thousand from every tribe, with Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, who was in charge of the holy articles and the signal trumpets.
12Joshua told the Reubenites, Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh:
7When Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he got up from among the assembly, took a javelin in his hand,
8and went after the Israelite man into the tent and thrust through the Israelite man and into the woman’s abdomen. So the plague was stopped from the Israelites.
42From the Israelites’ half-share that Moses had separated from the fighting men,
14because the tribe of the Reubenites by their families, the tribe of the Gadites by their families, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance.
11“Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned my anger away from the Israelites, when he manifested such zeal for my sake among them, so that I did not consume the Israelites in my zeal.
6Moses’ Response Moses said to the Gadites and the Reubenites,“Must your brothers go to war while you remain here?
1Levitical Cities The tribal leaders of the Levites went before Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun and the Israelite tribal leaders
3So Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the rift valley plains of Moab, along the Jordan River across from Jericho. They said,
2“Send out men to investigate the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. You are to send one man from each ancestral tribe, each one a leader among them.”
3So Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran at the command of the LORD. All of them were leaders of the Israelites.
13The entire assembly sent messengers to the Benjaminites at the cliff of Rimmon and assured them they would not be harmed.
1Women and Land Inheritance Then the heads of the family groups of the Gileadites, the descendant of Machir, the descendant of Manasseh, who were from the Josephite families, approached and spoke before Moses and the leaders who were the heads of the Israelite families.
20Phinehas son of Eleazar had been their leader in earlier times, and the LORD was with him.
7But the Levites will not have an allotted portion among you, for their inheritance is to serve the LORD. Gad, Reuben, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have already received their allotted land east of the Jordan which Moses the LORD’s servant assigned them.”
12The tribes of Israel sent men throughout the tribe of Benjamin, saying,“How could such a wicked thing take place?
23Israelites from Naphtali, Asher, and Manasseh answered the call and chased the Midianites.
25So the Gadites and the Reubenites replied to Moses,“Your servants will do as my lord commands.
26“You and Eleazar the priest, and all the family leaders of the community, take the sum of the plunder that was captured, both people and animals.
14Next will be the tribe of Gad. The leader of the people of Gad is Eliasaph son of Deuel.
5And he sent messengers to Balaam son of Beor at Pethor, which is by the Euphrates River in the land of Amaw, to summon him, saying,“Look, a nation has come out of Egypt. They cover the face of the earth, and they are settling next to me.
7Now, divide up this land among the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh.”
8Tribal Lands East of the Jordan The other half of Manasseh, Reuben, and Gad received their allotted tribal lands on east side of the Jordan, just as Moses, the LORD’s servant, had assigned them.
14The Benjaminites came from their cities and assembled at Gibeah to make war against the Israelites.
8Then we took their land and gave it as an inheritance to Reuben, Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh.
12Distribution of the Transjordanian Allotments This is the land we brought under our control at that time: The territory extending from Aroer by the Wadi Arnon and half the Gilead hill country with its cities I gave to the Reubenites and Gadites.
16To the Reubenites and Gadites I allocated the territory extending from Gilead as far as Wadi Arnon(the exact middle of the wadi was a boundary) all the way to the Wadi Jabbok, the Ammonite border.
6Moses the LORD’s servant and the Israelites defeated them and Moses the LORD’s servant assigned their land to Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
30From the Israelites’ half-share you are to take one portion out of fifty of the people, the cattle, the donkeys, and the sheep– from every kind of animal– and you are to give them to the Levites, who are responsible for the care of the LORD’s tabernacle.”
