She should not drink anything that the grapevine produces. She must not drink wine or beer, and she must not eat any food that will make her ritually unclean. She should obey everything I commanded her to do.”

    8Manoah prayed to the LORD,“Please, Lord, allow the man sent from God to visit us again, so he can teach us how we should raise the child who will be born.”

    9God answered Manoah’s prayer. God’s angel visited the woman again while she was sitting in the field. But her husband Manoah was not with her.

  • 12But she said to him,“No, my brother! Don’t humiliate me! This just isn’t done in Israel! Don’t do this foolish thing!

  • 12“But you made the Nazirites drink wine; you commanded the prophets,‘Do not prophesy!’

  • 21It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything that causes your brother to stumble.

  • 13The Festival of Temporary Shelters You must celebrate the Feast of Shelters for seven days, at the time of the grain and grape harvest.

  • 13but if a priest’s daughter is a widow or divorced, and she has no children so that she returns to live in her father’s house as in her youth, she may eat from her father’s food, but no lay person may eat it.
