44The one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, and the one on whom it falls will be crushed.”
13Then the owner of the vineyard said,‘What should I do? I will send my one dear son; perhaps they will respect him.’

4A Living Stone, a Chosen People So as you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but chosen and precious in God’s sight,
5you yourselves, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood and to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6For it says in scripture,“Look, I lay in Zion a stone, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and whoever believes in him will never be put to shame.”
7So you who believe see his value, but for those who do not believe, the stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,
8and a stumbling-stone and a rock to trip over. They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.
7But those tenants said to one another,‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and the inheritance will be ours!’
8So they seized him, killed him, and threw his body out of the vineyard.

1The Destruction of the Temple Now as Jesus was going out of the temple courts, one of his disciples said to him,“Teacher, look at these tremendous stones and buildings!”
2Jesus said to him,“Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left on another. All will be torn down!”
16Therefore, this is what the Sovereign LORD, says:“Look, I am laying a stone in Zion, an approved stone, set in place as a precious cornerstone for the foundation. The one who maintains his faith will not panic.
5The Signs of the End of the Age Now while some were speaking about the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and offerings, Jesus said,

1The Parable of the Tenants Then he began to speak to them in parables:“A man planted a vineyard. He put a fence around it, dug a pit for its winepress, and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and went on a journey.
2At harvest time he sent a slave to the tenants to collect from them his portion of the crop.
3But those tenants seized his slave, beat him, and sent him away empty-handed.
4So he sent another slave to them again. This one they struck on the head and treated outrageously.
32Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but(as if it were possible) by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone,
33just as it is written,“Look, I am laying in Zion a stone that will cause people to stumble and a rock that will make them fall, yet the one who believes in him will not be put to shame.”
2And he said to them,“Do you see all these things? I tell you the truth, not one stone will be left on another. All will be torn down!”

11For no one can lay any foundation other than what is being laid, which is Jesus Christ.
44They will demolish you– you and your children within your walls– and they will not leave within you one stone on top of another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.”
