1Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even to the greatest, came near,

31He said, Don't leave us, please; because you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you shall be to us instead of eyes.
32It shall be, if you go with us, yes, it shall be, that whatever good Yahweh shall do to us, the same will we do to you.
12Our God, will you not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that comes against us; neither know we what to do: but out eyes are on you.

17But we will certainly perform every word that is gone forth out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink-offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then had we plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.
23that we have built us an altar to turn away from following Yahweh; or if to offer thereon burnt offering or meal-offering, or if to offer sacrifices of peace-offerings thereon, let Yahweh himself require it;
19Teach us what we shall tell him; For we can't make our case by reason of darkness.

32Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keep covenant and loving kindness, don't let all the travail seem little before you, that has come on us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all your people, since the time of the kings of Assyria to this day.
