4I said, 'I have been banished from your sight; Yet I will look again toward your holy temple.'

9Have mercy on me, Yahweh, for I am in distress. My eye, my soul, and my body waste away with grief.
10For my life is spent with sorrow, My years with sighing. My strength fails because of my iniquity. My bones are wasted away.
13Have mercy on me, Yahweh. See my affliction by those who hate me, And lift me up from the gates of death;
4My heart is severely pained within me. The terrors of death have fallen on me.
18"'Why, then, have you brought me forth out of the womb? I wish I had given up the spirit, and no eye had seen me.
4I said, "Yahweh, have mercy on me! Heal me, for I have sinned against you."
9He said, Wherein have I sinned, that you would deliver your servant into the hand of Ahab, to kill me?
3For my soul is full of troubles. My life draws near to Sheol.
13"Oh that you would hide me in Sheol, That you would keep me secret, until your wrath is past, That you would appoint me a set time, and remember me!
23For I know that you will bring me to death, To the house appointed for all living.
4"Yahweh, show me my end, What is the measure of my days. Let me know how frail I am.
13Be pleased, Yahweh, to deliver me. Hurry to help me, Yahweh.
3Behold, and answer me, Yahweh, my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death;
10I said, In the noontide of my days I shall go into the gates of Sheol: I am deprived of the residue of my years.
11I said, I shall not see Yah, Yah in the land of the living: I shall see man no more with the inhabitants of the world.
12My dwelling is removed, and is carried away from me as a shepherd's tent: I have rolled up, like a weaver, my life; he will cut me off from the loom: From day even to night will you make an end of me.
21Why do you not pardon my disobedience, and take away my iniquity? For now shall I lie down in the dust. You will seek me diligently, but I shall not be."
12He said to them, "Take me up, and throw me into the sea. Then the sea will be calm for you; for I know that because of me this great tempest is on you."
5I cried to you, Yahweh. I said, "You are my refuge, My portion in the land of the living."
18I said, My strength is perished, and my expectation from Yahweh.
20Now please hear, my lord the king: please let my supplication be presented before you, that you not cause me to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.
10Remove your scourge away from me. I am overcome by the blow of your hand.
