6they love also the chief couches in the supper, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

3and a poor man thou dost not honour in his strife.

6He hath set the fool in many high places, And the rich in a low place do sit.

12And he said also to him who did call him, `When thou mayest make a dinner or a supper, be not calling thy friends, nor thy brethren, nor thy kindred, nor rich neighbours, lest they may also call thee again, and a recompense may come to thee;
13but when thou mayest make a feast, be calling poor, maimed, lame, blind,
15and he said to them, `Ye are those declaring yourselves righteous before men, but God doth know your hearts; because that which among men is high, `is' abomination before God;
6Honour not thyself before a king, And in the place of the great stand not.
7For better `that' he hath said to thee, `Come thou up hither,' Than `that' he humble thee before a noble, Whom thine eyes have seen.
11Therefore, because of your trampling on the poor, And the tribute of corn ye take from him, Houses of hewn work ye have built, And ye do not dwell in them, Desirable vineyards ye have planted, And ye do not drink their wine.
6When one layeth hold on his brother, `Of' the house of his father, `by' the garment, `Come, a ruler thou art to us, And this ruin `is' under thy hand.'
29and I say to you, that not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these.

17because thou sayest -- I am rich, and have grown rich, and have need of nothing, and hast not known that thou art the wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked,

15and if a brother or sister may be naked, and may be destitute of the daily food,

1`Take heed your kindness not to do before men, to be seen by them, and if not -- reward ye have not from your Father who `is' in the heavens;

23These also are for the wise: -- To discern faces in judgment is not good.
9And let the brother who is low rejoice in his exaltation,
10and the rich in his becoming low, because as a flower of grass he shall pass away;
12and whoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled, and whoever shall humble himself shall be exalted.
8but will not `rather' say to him, Prepare what I may sup, and having girded thyself about, minister to me, till I eat and drink, and after these things thou shalt eat and drink?
