  • Ezra 6:8-9 : 8 Moreover I make a decree as to what you shall do for the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that from the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the river, expenses be given to these men, so that they are not hindered. 9 And whatever they need—young bulls, rams, and lambs for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests who are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail:
  • Ps 22:15-26 : 15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue clings to my jaws; You have brought me into the dust of death. 16 For dogs have surrounded me; the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me; they pierced my hands and my feet. 17 I can count all my bones; they look and stare at me. 18 They divide my garments among them, and cast lots for my clothing. 19 But do not be far from me, O LORD; O my strength, hurry to help me. 20 Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog. 21 Save me from the lion's mouth, for You have heard me from the horns of the wild oxen. 22 I will declare Your name to my brethren; in the midst of the congregation I will praise You. 23 You who fear the LORD, praise Him; all you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him; and fear Him, all you offspring of Israel. 24 For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; nor has He hidden His face from him; but when he cried to Him, He heard. 25 My praise shall be of You in the great congregation; I will pay my vows before those who fear Him. 26 The humble shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek the LORD shall praise Him; your heart shall live forever.

  • John 6:51-57 : 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if anyone eats of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. 52 The Jews therefore argued among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53 Then Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, dwells in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father has sent me, and I live by the Father: so he who eats me, even he shall live by me.
