= dry grass-like remnant of wheat or another grain crop following the harvest; this term possibly refers to two kinds of material, one being the remnant of the crop remaining in the ground, the other being the unwanted residue of stalks; ► only used for brick making; ≈ usually considered of little value and needing to be separated from the grain itself; maybe burned
