«ዝገበርካዮ ነገር ጽቡቕ ኣይኮነን። እንተ እግዚኣብሔር ሕይወት ዘለዎ፣ ሞት ዝገብር ኢኹም፤ ምኽንያቱ ጌታኹም ቀቢ እግዚኣብሔር ኣይሕግዙኩምን። እስካ ኢላ ንጉስ ኣብ ኣበይ ኣሎ ኣራእዩ፣ ኣብ ኣጠገብ ራስኡ ዝነበረት ጽዋ ማይ ኣበይ ኣሎ?»

    10ዳዊት ተቀጻጸረ ኣለ፡ «እንተ እግዚኣብሔር ሕይወት ዘለዎ፣ እግዚኣብሔር ክመትዎ እዩ፤ ወይ መዓልቲ ሞቱ ክመጽእ እያ፤ ወይ ናብ ሰልፍ ክውርድ እዩ እና ክጠፍእ።»

    11«እግዚኣብሔር ይከልእ እንተ እጄ ናብ ቀቢ እግዚኣብሔር ክዘውዕ። ግን ኣሕቲ፣ ኢላ ዝርከብ ኣብ ኣጠገብ ራስኡን ጽዋ ማይን ውሰድ፣ ንኽንድሕን ንኽንሂድ።»

    12እንዲሕ ዳዊት ኢላን ጽዋ ማይን ካብ ኣጠገብ ራስ ሳውል ኣነሰ፤ እነርእኡ ወጺኡ ከም ተወስዱ ከውን ኣለዉ፤ ማንም ኣይረኣየን፣ ኣይፈለጠን፣ ኣይተነስኡን፤ ምኽንያቱ ኩሉኦም ተኣሚቱ ነበሩ፣ ዝጥራሕ ንባር ካብ እግዚኣብሔር ኣብላዕላቶም ወዲኡ ነበረ።

    13ዳዊት ናብ ካልእ በኩል ተሻገረ፣ ሩቅ ኣብ ርእሲ ተራራ ቆመ፤ ትልዓል ርቀት በመካከላቶም ነበረ።

    14ዳዊት ንሕዝቡን ንኣብነር ወዲ ነርን ጮኸ እዩ ብሎ፡ «ኣብነር ኣይትመልስን?» ኣብነር መለሰ ኣለ፡ «መን ኢኻ ንንጉስ ትጮኽ?»

    15ዳዊት ኣብነር ኣለዎ፡ «ዝበረታ ሰብ ኣይኮንካን? ኣብ እስራኤል ከምኻ ማን ኣለ? ስለዚ ጌታኻ ንጉስ ስንቱ ስለ ማዕበል ኣይጠቐምካን? ካብ ሕዝቡ ሓደ መጺኡ እዩ ንጉስ ጌታኻ ንምስንካእ።»
