ዳዊት ኣብነር ኣለዎ፡ «ዝበረታ ሰብ ኣይኮንካን? ኣብ እስራኤል ከምኻ ማን ኣለ? ስለዚ ጌታኻ ንጉስ ስንቱ ስለ ማዕበል ኣይጠቐምካን? ካብ ሕዝቡ ሓደ መጺኡ እዩ ንጉስ ጌታኻ ንምስንካእ።»

    18ኣሎ ድማ፡ «ስለ እንታይ ጌታይ ንባሪያኡ እንዲሕ ይከተሉ ኣሎ? እንታይ ገበርኩ? ወይ ክፉ ነገር ኣብ እጄ ኣለ?»

    5ዳዊት ተነስኦ ናብ ሳውል ዝተሰፈረሉ ቦታ መጻእ፤ ዳዊት እቲ ሳውል ዝሰየረሉ ቦታ ኣየ ነበረ፣ ኣብነር ወዲ ነር መሪ ሠራዊቱ እዩ ነበረ። ሳውል ኣብ መካከል ሰፈር ሰይር ነበረ፣ ሕዝቡ ድማ ኣብ ዙሪያው ተሰፍሮም ነበሩ።

    6እዚ ዳዊት ንኣሒሜሌክ ሄጣዊን ንኣቢሻይ ወዲ ዘሩያ ሓወይ ዮዓብን ኣለ፡ «መን ምስደይ ናብ ሰፈር ሳውል ይውርድ?» ኣቢሻይ ኣመለሰ፡ «ምስኻ እወርድ።»

    7ስለዚ ዳዊትን ኣቢሻይን ብለይሊ ናብ ሕዝቡ መጹ፤ እነ ሳውል ኣብ መካከል ሰፈር ተኣሚቱ ነበረ፣ ኢላኡ ድማ ኣብ ምድር ተተረከበ ነበረ ኣብ ኣጠገብ ራስኡ፤ ኣብነርን ሕዝቡን ድማ ኣብ ዙሪያው ተኣሚቱ ነበሩ።

    8ኣቢሻይ ንዳዊት ኣለ፡ «እግዚኣብሔር ዛሬ ጠላትኻ ኣብ እጅኻ ሃበዎ እዩ። ኣብዚ ኣሎ ብኢላ ሓደ ግዜ ክንቕጽዎ ኣትዕዘብኒ፤ ካልእ ግዜ ክቕጽዎ ኣይደሊን።»

    9ዳዊት ኣቢሻይ ኣለዎ፡ «ኣይትግዳሎ፤ ምኽንያቱ ናብ ቀቢ እግዚኣብሔር እጁ ዘውዕ መን እዩ ዘይተቀሳለ?»

    10ዳዊት ተቀጻጸረ ኣለ፡ «እንተ እግዚኣብሔር ሕይወት ዘለዎ፣ እግዚኣብሔር ክመትዎ እዩ፤ ወይ መዓልቲ ሞቱ ክመጽእ እያ፤ ወይ ናብ ሰልፍ ክውርድ እዩ እና ክጠፍእ።»
