ኣብ ሰባተይ ወርሒ እዚ እንዳ ሆነ እስማኤል ወዲ ነታንያ ወዲ ኤሊሻማ ካብ ዘር ነገስታት ዝኾነ፣ እንዲሁ ናይ ንጉሥ ኣመራርሓት ዘለዉ ኣስርተ ሰባት ምስ እርሱ ናብ ገዳልያ ወዲ አሂቃም ናብ ሚጽፓ መጹ፤ እቲ ኣብ ሚጽፓ በኣንድነት ዳቦ ተበሉ።

    3እስማኤል እንዲሁ ኣብ ሚጽፓ ምስ ገዳልያ ዘለዉ እቲ ኩሉ ይሁዳውያን ቀቲላቶም፣ እንዲሁ ኣብዚ ቦታ ዝተረኸቡ ካልድያውያንን ሰባት ሰራዊትን እንስኳ ቀቲላቶም።

    4ድሕሪ ገዳልያ ተተነ ካልእ መዓልቲ እንዳ መጽአ ሓደ ሰብ ኣይተረደአን ነበረ።

    5እነሆ ካብ ሴኬምን ካብ ሺሎንን ካብ ሰማርያን ሰማንያ ሰባት መጹ፤ ጢሚኣቶም ዝቆረጡ፣ ልብሳቶም ዝተበተኑ፣ ራእሳቶም ዝቆረጹ ነበሩ፤ ስውኣትን ዕጣንን ኣብ እጃቶም ይዛእቱ ናብ ቤተ እግዚኣብሔር ክኣቱ መጻኡ።

    6እስማኤል ወዲ ነታንያ ካብ ሚጽፓ ክትረኽቦም ወጺኡ፤ ኣብ መንገዲ እየ ዝወለደ ይተኣይት ነበረ። እንዳ ተገናአዮም ኣሎም፣ ናብ ገዳልያ ወዲ አሂቃም ተምጻኡ በሉ።

    7እነሆም ኣብ መካነ ከተማ እንዳ ገበሩ እስማኤል ወዲ ነታንያ እርሱን ምስ እርሱ ዘለዉ ሰባትን ቀቲላቶም፣ ኣብ መካነ ጕድጓድ ኣወረደሶም።

    8ግን ብዛንኣቶም ኣስርተ ሰባት ተረኽበ፤ እዚኦም ለእስማኤል ኣሉ፣ ኣይትግደለና፤ ምእዙናት ኣብ ሜዳ ዘለና፣ ስንዴን ገብስን ዘይትን ማርን። እሱ እንግዲኛ ተደፊኣ ኣብ ሓወደታቶም መካን ኣይተተናቶምን።

    9እቲ ጕድጓድ እስማኤል እቶም ሙታን ኣካላት ሰባት ገዳልያ ምክንያት ዝተተኑ ኣብ ውሽጢ ዝኣረገመ እዚ እዩ፤ እቲ ጕድጓድ ኣሳ ንጉሥ ብፍርሒ ባአሻ ንጉሥ እስራኤል ምክንያት ዝሰርሐ ነበረ። እስማኤል ወዲ ነታንያ እታ ጕድጓድ ብእቶም ዝተተኑ ሰባት ሞታን ሞላታታ።

    10እንዚኣ እስማኤል እቲ ቀሪቶም ሕዝቢ ኣብ ሚጽፓ ዝነበሩ ኩሉ ኣመሓገሰሎም፣ እንኳዕ ጓልቲ ንጉሥን እቲ ናብ ገዳልያ ወዲ አሂቃም ብነቡዘራዳን ኣለቃ ጠባቂ ዝተሰጠሉ እቶም ኣብ ሚጽፓ ዝተረፉ ሕዝብ ኩሉ። እሱ ኣመሓገሰሎም ከምኡ'ውን ናብ ኣሞናውያን ክለፍ ይሄድ ወጺኡ።

    11ግን ዮሐናን ወዲ ቃሬዓ እና ምስ እርሱ ዘለዉ ኩሉ ኣለቃት ሓይል እስማኤል ወዲ ነታንያ ዝገበረ ኩሉ ክፉ እንዳ ሰሙ።

    12እዚ እንዳ ሆነ ኩሉ ሰባት ወስዶም ናብ እስማኤል ወዲ ነታንያ ክውግእ ነዱ፤ እሱን ኣብ ጊብዖን ዘለዋ እቲ ብዙሕ ማይ ገደር ረኺቡዎ።

    13እቲ ምስ እስማኤል ዘለዉ ኩሉ ሕዝብ ዮሐናን ወዲ ቃሬዓን እንዲሁ ምስ እርሱ ዘለዉ ኩሉ ኣለቃት ሓይል እንተ ረኣዮም ደስ ኣላቶም።

    14ስለዚ እቲ እስማኤል ካብ ሚጽፓ ብምርኣይ ዝመሓገሰሶም ኩሉ ሕዝብ ተመለሱ ናብ ዮሐናን ወዲ ቃሬዓ መጹ።

    15ግን እስማኤል ወዲ ነታንያ ስምንተ ሰባት ምስ እርሱ ካብ ዮሐናን ሸሽወ ናብ ኣሞናውያን ሄደ።

    16እንዚኣ ዮሐናን ወዲ ቃሬዓ ምስ እርሱ ዘለዉ ኩሉ ኣለቃት ሓይል ካብ እስማኤል ወዲ ነታንያ ካብ ሚጽፓ ንድሕሪ ዘገደለ ገዳልያ ወዲ አሂቃም ዝመላሰ እቲ ቀሪቶም ሕዝቢ ኩሉ ወስዶም፤ ብርቱዕ ሰባት ሰራዊት፣ ኣንስትዮም፣ ሕፃናት እና ነቀራጥ ዘሎም፣ እቲ ካብ ጊብዖን ዝመላሰ ሰባት ኩሉ ወስዶም።
