    14ምክንያቱም የእስራኤል አምላክ እግዚአብሔር እንዲህ ይላል፦ በማሰሮው ያለው ዱቄት አያልቅም፤ በብርጭቆው ያለው ዘይት አይጎድልም እስከ እግዚአብሔር ዝናብ በምድር ላይ እስኪያወርድ ቀን ድረስ።

    15እርሷም ሄዳ ኤልያስ እንዳለ አደረገች፤ እርሷም እርሱም ቤትዋም ብዙ ቀናት በሉ።

    16በማሰሮው ያለው ዱቄት አልቋረጠም፤ በብርጭቆው ያለው ዘይትም አልጎደለም፤ ይህም እንደ እግዚአብሔር ቃል በኤልያስ አፍ እንደተናገረው ሆነ።

    17ከዚህ ነገር በኋላ የቤቱ ባለቤት ሴት ልጅ ታመመ፤ ሕመሙም እጅግ ከባድ ሆኖ መተንፈስ ተቋረጠበት።

    18እርሷም ኤልያስን አለች፦ አንተ የእግዚአብሔር ሰው ሆይ፥ ከኔ ጋር ምን አለህ? ኃጢአቴን እንዲታሰብ እና ልጄን ልታግድ ወደ እኔ መጣህን?

    19እርሱም አላት፦ ልጅሽን ስጪኝ። ከደረትዋም ወስዶ የተቀመጠበት ወደ ላይኛው ክፍል አመጣውና በራሱ አልጋ ላይ አኖረው።

    20እርሱም ወደ እግዚአብሔር ጮኸና እንዲህ አለ፦ አቤቱ አምላኬ እግዚአብሔር፥ እኔ እንግዳ እየተቀመጥሁ ያለሁባት መበለት ላይ በልጇን በመግደል ክፉ አመጣህ እንዳለ?
