    6እግዚአብሔር የአራማውያንን ሠራዊት የሰረገላ ድምፅና የፈረሶች ድምፅ፣ የታላቅ ሠራዊት ድምፅ እንዲሰሙ አደረጋቸው፤ እርስ በርሳቸውም እንዲህ አሉ፦ እነሆ የእስራኤል ንጉሥ በእኛ ላይ የሄጢያውያንን ነገሥታትና የግብፃውያንን ነገሥታት በኪራይ አከራየብን እንዲመጡብን።

    7ስለዚህ በማታ ግርጌ ተነሡ ተሸሸጉ፥ ድንኳኖቻቸውንና ፈረሶቻቸውንና አህያዎቻቸውን ትተው፥ ሰፈሩንም እንዳለ ቀርተው ለሕይወታቸው እየሸሸጉ ሸሹ።

    11እርሱም በር ጠባቂዎቹን ጠራ፥ እነርሱም ይህን ነገር ወደ ንጉሡ ቤት ውስጥ ነገሩ።

    12ንጉሡም በሌሊት ተነሣ ለባሪያዎቹም እንዲህ አለ፦ አራማውያን ለእኛ ያደረጉትን አሳያችኋለሁ፤ ራብ እንዳለን ያውቃሉ፤ ስለዚህ ከሰፈር ወጥተው በሜዳ ተሰውረው ናቸው፥ እንዲህ ሲሉ፦ ‘ከተማውን ከተዉ ሲወጡ ሕያዋን እናይዛቸዋለን እና ከተማውን እናገባለን’።

    13ከባሪያዎቹ አንዱ መለሰና እንዲህ አለ፦ እባክህ፣ በከተማይቱ የቀሩት ፈረሶች አምስቱን አንዳንዶች ይውሰዱ፤ (እነሆ፣ በከተማይቱ ውስጥ የቀሩት እስራኤላውያን ሁሉ እንደሚጠፉ እነዚህም እንዲሁ ይሆናሉ) እና እንልክ እና እንመልከት።

    14ስለዚህ ሁለት ሰረገላ አዘጋጁ፥ ንጉሡም በአራማውያን ሠራዊት በኋላ እንዲሄዱ ላካቸው እንዲህ ሲል፦ ሂዱ እና ተመልከቱ።

    16ሕዝቡም ወጥቶ የአራማውያንን ሰፈር ዘረፈ። ስለዚህ አንድ ሴአ ተጣራ ዱቄት ለአንድ ሰቅል፥ ሁለት ሴአ ገብስ ለአንድ ሰቅል ተሸጠ፤ ይህም እንደ የእግዚአብሔር ቃል ነበር።
