    9ከእኛ ጋር ተጋብዙ፤ ልጆቻችሁን ለእኛ ስጡን የእኛንም ልጃገረዶች እናንተ ውሰዱ።

    10ከእኛ ጋር ኑሩ፤ አገሩ በፊታችሁ ነው፤ በእርሱ ኑሩና ንግድ አድርጉ በውስጡም ንብረት አግኙ።

    11ሴኬምም ለአባቷና ለወንድሞችዋ እንዲህ አለ፦ በዓይናችሁ ሞገስ እንድኖር አስተውሉኝ፤ ምንም ብትነግሩኝ እሰጣችኋለሁ።

    12ሙሽራና ስጦታ ምንም ብትጠይቁ እንደምትሉ እሰጣችኋለሁ፤ ነገር ግን ይህችን ልጃገረድ ሚስቴ እንድትሆን ስጡኝ።

    13ነገር ግን እኅታቸውን ዲናን አጐናጸፈ ስለ ነበር የያዕቆብ ልጆች ሴኬምንና አባቱን ሐሞርን በተንኰል መለሱላቸው እንዲህ ሲሉ፦

    14እኛ እንዲህ ማድረግ አንችልም፤ ያልተገረዘ ለሆነ ሰው እኅታችንን መስጠት ለእኛ ነው የሚያሳፍረን።

    15ነገር ግን በዚህ ነገር እንስማማባችሁ፤ እናንተ እንደ እኛ ቢሆኑ በመካከላችሁ ያሉ ወንዶች ሁሉ ቢገረዙ።

    16በዚያን ጊዜ ልጆቻችንን ለእናንተ እንሰጣለን ልጃገረዶቻችሁንም ለእኛ እንወስዳለን፤ ከእናንተ ጋር እንኖራለን አንድ ሕዝብም እንሆናለን።

    17ነገር ግን ብቸኛ ባትስሙን ባትገረዙም እኅታችንን እንወስዳታለን እናም እንሄዳለን።

    18ቃላቸውም ሐሞርንና የሐሞርን ልጅ ሴኬምን አስደሰተ።

    19ወጣቱም በያዕቆብ ልጅ ደስ ስለ ነበረው ነገር ያለ መዘግየት ያለውን አደረገ፤ እርሱም በአባቱ ቤት ሁሉ ከሁሉ ይልቅ ክቡር ነበር።

    20ሐሞርና ልጁ ሴኬም ወደ ከተማቸው ደጅ መጡ፤ የከተማውንም ሰዎች እንዲህ ሲሉ አነጋግሯቸው።
