    17እስራኤላውያን ግን ከብንያም በቀር ሰይፍ የወሰዱ አራት መቶ ሺህ ወታደሮች ተቈጠሩ፤ እነዚህ ሁሉ ጦር የተለመዱ ሰዎች ነበሩ።

    18እስራኤላውያንም ተነሥተው ወደ የእግዚአብሔር ቤት ወጡ እና ከእግዚአብሔር ምክር ጠየቁ እና፣ “ከእኛ ማን በመጀመሪያ በብንያም ልጆች ላይ ወደ ጦርነት ይወጣ?” አሉ። እግዚአብሔርም፣ “ይሁዳ በመጀመሪያ ይወጣ” ለማለ።

    19እስራኤላውያንም በእ morning ጠዋት ተነሡ እና በጊቤዓ ላይ ሰፈሩ።

    20እስራኤላውያንም በብንያም ላይ ወደ ጦርነት ወጡ፤ በጊቤዓ ላይ ለመዋጋት ተሰለፉ።

    33እስራኤል ሰዎች ሁሉ ከቦታቸው ተነሥተው በባዓልታማር ተሰለፉ፤ የእስራኤል የተደበቁ ሰዎችም ከቦታቸው ከጊቤዓ ሜዳዎች ወጡ።

    34ከእስራኤል ሁሉ አስር ሺህ ተመርጦች በጊቤዓ ላይ መጡ፤ ጦርነቱም ከባድ ነበር፤ ክፉ ነገር በቀርቦ መኖሩን ግን እነርሱ አላወቁም።

    35እግዚአብሔርም ብንያምን በእስራኤል ፊት አሸነፈው፤ በዚያ ቀን እስራኤላውያን ከብንያም ልጆች ሃያ አምስት ሺህ እና መቶ ሰዎችን አጠፉ፤ እነዚህ ሁሉ ሰይፍ የወሰዱ ነበሩ።

    36እንግዲህ ብንያማውያን የተመቱ መሆናቸውን አዩ፤ ምክንያቱም እስራኤላውያን በጊቤዓ አጠገብ ያቀመጡትን ተደብቆ ያሉ ሰዎች ተስፋ ባደረጉ ምክንያት ለብንያም ቦታ ሰጡ።

    37የተደበቁትም ፈጥነው ተነሥተው በጊቤዓ ላይ ዘመቱ፤ ተዘርገው ሄዱ እና ከተማይቱን ሁሉ በሰይፍ መቱ።
