    37የተደበቁትም ፈጥነው ተነሥተው በጊቤዓ ላይ ዘመቱ፤ ተዘርገው ሄዱ እና ከተማይቱን ሁሉ በሰይፍ መቱ።

    38ከእስራኤላውያን እና ከተደብቆ ያሉት መካከል የተስማሙ ምልክት ነበር፤ ከከተማይቱ ከፍ የሚወጣ ትልቅ እሳትና ጭስ እንዲያስነሱ ይሆናል ብለው ነበር።

    39የእስራኤል ሰዎች በጦርነት ወደ ኋላ በሚመለሱ ጊዜ ብንያማውያን ከእስራኤላውያን ሰላሳ ያህል ሰዎችን መትተው መግደል ጀመሩ፤ “እንደ መጀመሪያው ውጊያ በፊታችን ወድቀዋል እንጂ” አሉ።

    40ነገር ግን ከከተማይቱ የጭስ ምሰሶ ጋር እሳቱ ሲወጣ ሲያርስ ጀመረ፣ ብንያማውያን ኋላቸውን ተመልሰው ተመለከቱ፤ እነሆ የከተማይቱ እሳት ወደ ሰማይ ይወጣ ነበር።

    41እስራኤላውያንም ተመልሰው ሲመጡ የብንያም ሰዎች ደነገጡ፤ ክፉ ነገር በላያቸው መደረሱን አዩ።

    42ስለዚህ ከእስራኤላውያን ፊት ጀርባቸውን ሰርተው ወደ ምድረ በዳ መንገድ ሸሹ፤ ግን ውጊያው ተከተላቸው፤ ከከተሞች የወጡትንም በመካከላቸው ቈርጠው አጠፉአቸው።

    43እንዲህ በሆነ መልኩ ብንያምን በዙሪያቸው ከበዱአቸው፤ አሳደዱአቸው እና በጊቤዓ ፊት ወደ ምስራቅ በቀላሉ ረበሩአቸው።

    44ከብንያምም አሥራ ስምንት ሺህ ሰዎች ወደቁ፤ እነዚህ ሁሉ አርደኞች ወታደሮች ነበሩ።

    45እነርሱም ለውስጥ ተመልሰው ወደ ምድረ በዳ ወደ የሪሞን ዐለት ሸሹ፤ በመንገዶች ላይ ከእነርሱ አምስት ሺህ ሰዎችን ቈርጠው ገደሉ፤ እስከ ጊዶም በበረት ተከትለው ሁለት ሺህ ሰዎችን ገደሉ።

    46በዚያ ቀን ከብንያም የወደቁ ሁሉ ሰይፍ የወሰዱ ሃያ አምስት ሺህ ሰዎች ሆነው ነበር፤ እነዚህ ሁሉ አርደኞች ወታደሮች ነበሩ።

    47ነገር ግን ስድስት መቶ ሰዎች ተመልሰው ወደ ምድረ በዳ ወደ የሪሞን ዐለት ሸሹ እና በየሪሞን ዐለት አራት ወር ኖሩ።
