    45አቢሜሌክም ቀኑን ሁሉ በከተማይቱ ላይ ተዋጋ፤ ከተማይቱንም ወሰደ፤ በውስጧ ያለውን ሕዝብ ሁሉ ገደለ፤ ከተማይቱንም አፈረሰ በጨውም ዘራት።

    2“እባካችሁ፣ የሴኬም ሰዎች ሁሉ ጆሮ ዘንድ እንዲህ በሉላቸው፤ የይሩብባል ልጆች ሁሉ ሰባ ሰዎች በእናንተ ላይ እንዲነግሡ ይሻላችኋልን? ወይስ አንድ ሰው ብቻ በእናንተ ላይ እንዲነግሥ ይሻላችኋል? እኔ አጥንታችሁና ሥጋችሁ መሆኔን አስታውሱ።”

    3እናቱ ወንድሞች የእርሱን ቃል ለሴኬም ሰዎች ሁሉ ነገሩ፤ ልባቸውም አቢሜሌክን ለመከተል ተዘነበለ፤ ምክንያቱም፣ “እርሱ ወንድማችን ነው” አሉ።

    4ከባኣል-በሪት ቤት የብር ሰባ ክፍሎች ሰጡት፤ አቢሜሌክም በዚያ ገንዘብ ከንቱና ዝቅተኛ ሰዎችን አከራየ፤ እነርሱም ተከተሉት።

    5ከዚያ ወደ አባቱ ቤት ወዳለችው ኦፍራ ሄደ፤ የይሩብባል ወንድሞቹን ሰባ ሰዎችን በአንድ ድንጋይ ላይ ገደለ፤ ነገር ግን ከይሩብባል ልጆች ውስጥ ታናሹ ዮታም ራሱን ስለ ሰወረ ተረፈ።

    54እርሱም ፈጥኖ ወጣቱን የመሣሪያ ተሸካሚውን ጠራና እንዲህ አለው፦ “ሰይፍህን ነቅተህ ግደለኝ፤ ‘ሴት ገደለችው’ እንዳይባል ዘንድ።” ወጣቱም ተሸካሚው በሰይፉ ወግቶ ገደለው፤ እርሱም ሞተ።

    55እስራኤል ሰዎች አቢሜሌክ ሞቶ መሆኑን ባዩ ጊዜ እያንዳንዱ ወደ ቦታው ተመለሰ።

    56እንግዲህ እግዚአብሔር አቢሜሌክ በአባቱ ላይ በወንድሞቹ ሰባ ሰዎች መግደሉ ያደረገውን ክፉ ተመልሶ አሳረደው።

    57የሴኬም ሰዎች ያደረጉት ክፉ ሁሉ ደግሞ እግዚአብሔር በራሳቸው ላይ መለሰላቸው፤ የይሩብባል ልጅ ዮታም የረገመው ርግማን በእነርሱ ላይ መጣ።
