  • Ezek 3:2-9 : 2 So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. 3 He said to me, "Son of man, let this scroll fill your stomach and satisfy your insides. I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth." 4 Then he said to me, "Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak my words to them." 5 For you are not being sent to a people with an obscure language or a difficult tongue, but to the house of Israel. 6 You are not sent to many peoples with unintelligible speech or difficult tongues whose words you cannot understand. Surely, if I had sent you to them, they would have listened to you. 7 But the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, for they are not willing to listen to me. The entire house of Israel is hard-headed and stubborn-hearted. 8 Look, I have made your face as hard as their faces, and your forehead as strong as their foreheads. 9 I have made your forehead like the hardest stone, harder than flint. Do not fear them or be dismayed by their faces, even though they are a rebellious house. 10 And he said to me, "Son of man, take into your heart all the words I speak to you and listen closely with your ears." 11 Go to the exiles, to your people, and speak to them. • Ezek 3:17-21 : 17 "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from My mouth, give them warning from Me. 18 If I say to a wicked person, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to warn him to turn from his wicked ways to save his life, that wicked person will die in his sin, but I will hold you accountable for his blood. 19 But if you warn the wicked person and he does not turn from his wickedness or his wicked way, he will die in his sin, but you will have saved yourself. 20 Again, if a righteous person turns from his righteousness and does wrong, and I put a stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die in his sin. His righteous acts will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. 21 But if you warn a righteous person not to sin and he does not sin, he will surely live because he heeded the warning, and you will have saved yourself.
