They will come trembling from their strongholds; they will dread the LORD our God and stand in awe of You. 18 Who is a God like You, forgiving iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in steadfast love. 19 He will again have compassion on us; He will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. 20 You will show faithfulness to Jacob and steadfast love to Abraham, as You promised to our fathers in days of old.

For then I will remove from your midst your proudly exultant ones, and you shall no longer be haughty on my holy mountain. 12 But I will leave in your midst a people humble and lowly; they shall seek refuge in the name of the LORD. 13 The remnant of Israel will do no wrong, they will speak no lies, nor will deceit be found in their mouths. They will graze and lie down, and no one will make them afraid. 14 Sing aloud, Daughter Zion; shout, Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, Daughter Jerusalem! 15 The LORD has taken away your judgments; He has turned aside your enemy. The King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst; you will never again fear disaster. 16 On that day, it will be said to Jerusalem, 'Do not be afraid, Zion; do not let your hands fall limp.' 17 The LORD your God is in your midst—a mighty warrior who saves. I myself am going.’ 22 And many peoples and strong nations will come to seek the LORD of Hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the LORD. 23 This is what the LORD of Hosts says: In those days, ten men from every language and nation will take hold of the robe of a Jewish man and say, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’

I, the LORD, have spoken. 25 I will make a covenant of peace with them and rid the land of wild animals, so they may live securely in the wilderness and sleep in the forests. 26 I will make them and the areas surrounding My hill a blessing. I will send down showers in their season—showers of blessing will come. 27 The trees of the field will yield their fruit, and the land will produce its crops. They will live securely on their land and know that I am the LORD when I break the bars of their yoke and rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them. 28 They will no longer be prey for the nations, and the beasts of the earth will not devour them. They will live securely, and no one will make them afraid. 29 I will provide them with a land renowned for its crops, and they will no longer be victims of famine in the land or bear the disgrace of the nations. 30 Then they will know that I, the LORD their God, am with them, and that they are My people—the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD. 31 You are My sheep, the sheep of My pasture, and I am your God, declares the Lord GOD.
  • Ezek 36:8-9 : 8 But you, mountains of Israel, will yield your branches and bear your fruit for my people Israel, because they are about to come home. 9 For behold, I am on your side; I will turn toward you, and you will be tilled and sown. 10 I will multiply people upon you—the entire house of Israel in its entirety. The cities will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt. 11 I will increase the number of people and animals on you, and they will be fruitful and multiply. I will make you inhabited as you were in the past and will do even better for you than at the beginning. Then you will know that I am the LORD. 12 I will bring people, my people Israel, to live on you. They will possess you, and you will be their inheritance, and you will no longer bereave them of children. 13 This is what the Lord GOD says: Because people say to you, ‘You devour humans and make your nations childless,’ 14 therefore, you will no longer devour people or make your nations childless,' declares the Lord GOD. 15 I will no longer let you hear the insults of the nations or bear the scorn of the peoples, nor will you cause your nation to stumble anymore, declares the Lord GOD.
  • Ezek 37:11-28 : 11 Then He said to me, 'Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. I will bring you back to the land of Israel.'” 13 Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from them, my people. 14 I will put My Spirit in you, and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord. 15 The word of the Lord came to me, saying: 16 And you, son of man, take one stick and write on it, ‘For Judah and for the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and all the house of Israel associated with him.’ 17 Join them together into one stick so that they become one in your hand. 18 When your people say to you, ‘Won’t you explain to us what you mean by this?’ 19 Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Behold, I am going to take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel associated with him, and I will join it to the stick of Judah, making them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.' 20 The sticks on which you write will be in your hand before their eyes. 21 Then say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Behold, I will take the Israelites from among the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.' 22 I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one king will rule over them all. They will no longer be two nations or divided into two kingdoms. 23 They will no longer defile themselves with their idols, their vile images, or any of their transgressions. I will save them from all the places where they have sinned, and I will purify them. They will be My people, and I will be their God. 24 My servant David will be king over them, and there will be one shepherd for all of them. They will follow My laws and carefully obey My decrees. 25 They will live in the land I gave to My servant Jacob, the land where your ancestors lived. They and their children and their descendants will dwell there forever, and My servant David will be their prince forever. 26 I will make a covenant of peace with them, an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will set My sanctuary among them forever. 27 My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be My people. 28 Then the nations will know that I, the Lord, make Israel holy, when My sanctuary is among them forever.

The mountains will drip with sweet wine, and all the hills will flow with it. 14 I will restore My people Israel from captivity. They will rebuild desolate cities and inhabit them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine. They will make gardens and eat their fruit. 15 I will plant them upon their land, and they will never again be uprooted from the land I have given them, says the Lord your God.

  • Isa 49:13-26 : 13 Sing, O heavens, rejoice, O earth, and break out into singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people and will have compassion on His afflicted ones. 14 But Zion said, 'The Lord has abandoned me, and my Lord has forgotten me.' 15 Can a woman forget her nursing child or lack compassion for the child of her womb? Even if these forget, I will not forget you. 16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me. 17 Your children hurry back, and those who laid you waste and devastated you will depart from you. 18 Lift up your eyes and look around: They all gather and come to you. As surely as I live, declares the Lord, you will wear them all as ornaments and put them on like a bride. 19 Your ruins, desolate places, and devastated land will now be too small for your inhabitants, and those who devoured you will be far away. 20 The children you thought you had lost will say in your hearing, 'This place is too small for us. Make room for us to live here.' 21 Then you will say in your heart, 'Who bore me these children? I was bereaved and barren, exiled and rejected. Who raised these? I was left all alone—where have these come from?' 22 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: 'See, I will lift up my hand to the nations and raise my banner to the peoples. They will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders.' 23 Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the ground and lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who hope in Me will not be disappointed. 24 Can plunder be taken from the mighty, or can captives of a righteous man be freed? 25 But this is what the Lord says: 'Yes, the captives of the mighty will be taken, and the prey of the ruthless will be rescued. I will contend with those who oppose you, and I will save your children.' 26 I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh, and they will be drunk on their own blood as with new wine. Then all mankind will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
  • Isa 51:3-9 : 3 For the Lord comforts Zion; He comforts all her ruins. He will make her wilderness like Eden, her desert like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing. 4 Listen to me, my people; give ear to me, my nation. For My instruction will go out, and My justice will be a light for the peoples. 5 My righteousness is near, My salvation has gone out, and My arms will bring justice to the nations. The coastlands will look to Me and wait in hope for My arms. 6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens and look at the earth below. For the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and its inhabitants will die like flies. But My salvation will last forever, and My righteousness will never fail. 7 Listen to me, you who know righteousness, you people who have my teaching in your hearts. Do not fear the reproach of men or be dismayed by their insults. 8 For the moth will eat them like a garment, and the worm will eat them like wool. But My righteousness will last forever, and My salvation through all generations. 9 Awake, awake, clothe yourself with strength, O arm of the Lord! Awake, as in days of old, as in generations long ago. Was it not You who cut Rahab to pieces and pierced the dragon? 10 Was it not You who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, who made the depths of the sea a road for the redeemed to cross over? 11 So the ransomed of the Lord will return, and they will come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Joy and gladness will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. 12 I, I am the One who comforts you. Who are you that you should fear mortals who die, or humans who are like grass? 13 You have forgotten the Lord, your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth. You live in constant fear every day because of the anger of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy. But where is the fury of the oppressor? 14 The one who is bowed down will soon be set free; he will not die and go down to the pit, nor will he lack bread. 15 For I am the Lord your God, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the Lord of Hosts is His name. 16 I have put My words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of My hand, to establish the heavens, to lay the foundations of the earth, and to say to Zion, 'You are My people.' 17 Wake yourself, wake yourself! Arise, Jerusalem, you who have drunk from the hand of the Lord the cup of His wrath, who have drunk to the dregs the bowl of staggering. 18 There is no one to guide her among all the sons she has borne, and no one to take her by the hand among all the sons she has raised. 19 These double calamities have come upon you—destruction and devastation, famine and sword. Who will console you? 20 Your sons have fainted; they lie at the head of every street like antelopes caught in a net. They are filled with the wrath of the Lord, with the rebuke of your God. 21 Therefore hear this, you afflicted one, who are drunk but not with wine. 22 This is what your Lord, the Lord your God who defends His people, says: 'See, I have taken from your hand the cup of staggering, the goblet of My wrath. You will never drink from it again.' 23 I will put it into the hands of your tormentors, who said to you, 'Bow down so we can walk over you.' You made your back like the ground, like a street for them to walk over.

  • Jer 3:12-24 : 12 Go, proclaim these words toward the north: 'Return, faithless Israel,' declares the LORD. 'I will not look on you with anger, for I am faithful,' declares the LORD, 'and I will not be angry forever. 13 Only acknowledge your guilt—that you have rebelled against the LORD your God, scattered your favors to strangers under every spreading tree, and have not obeyed my voice,' declares the LORD. 14 Return, faithless children,' declares the LORD, 'for I am your master. I will take you—one from a city and two from a family—and bring you to Zion. 15 Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding. 16 And when you have multiplied and increased in the land in those days,' declares the LORD, 'people will no longer say, “The ark of the covenant of the LORD.” It will not come to mind or be remembered, nor will it be missed or made again. 17 At that time they will call Jerusalem the Throne of the LORD, and all the nations will gather in Jerusalem to honor the name of the LORD. They will no longer follow the stubbornness of their evil hearts. 18 In those days, the people of Judah and the people of Israel will come together; they will come from a land in the north to the land I gave your ancestors as an inheritance. 19 I myself said, “How gladly would I treat you like my children and give you a desirable land, the most beautiful inheritance of any nation.” I thought you would call me 'Father' and not turn away from following me. 20 But like a woman unfaithful to her husband, so you, Israel, have been unfaithful to me,' declares the LORD. 21 A voice is heard on the barren heights: the weeping and pleading of the people of Israel, because they have perverted their ways and have forgotten the LORD their God. 22 Return, you backsliding children, and I will heal your waywardness. 'Here we are,' they reply, 'for you are the LORD our God.' 23 Surely the false worship on the hills and the commotion on the mountains is a deception. Truly, the salvation of Israel is in the LORD our God. 24 From our youth, shame has consumed all that our ancestors worked for—their flocks and herds, their sons and daughters.

I will increase their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will honor them, and they will not be despised. 20 Their children will be as they were in former times, and their community will be established before Me. I will punish all who oppress them. 21 Their leader will be one of their own, and their ruler will arise from among them. I will bring him near, and he will approach Me—for who would dare to risk his life to approach Me? declares the LORD. 22 You will be My people, and I will be your God.
  • Jer 31:1-9 : 1 At that time, declares the LORD, I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be my people. 2 This is what the LORD says: The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness as Israel journeyed to find rest. 3 The LORD appeared to me from far away, saying: I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have drawn you with lovingkindness. 4 I will build you up again, and you will be rebuilt, O virgin Israel. Again, you will take up your tambourines and go out in joyful dancing. 5 You will plant vineyards again on the hills of Samaria; the planters will plant them and enjoy their fruit. 6 For there will be a day when the watchmen call out on the hills of Ephraim, saying: Arise, let us go up to Zion, to the LORD our God. 7 For this is what the LORD says: Sing with joy for Jacob, shout for the chief of the nations. Proclaim, give praise, and say: Save, O LORD, your people, the remnant of Israel. 8 Behold, I will bring them from the land of the north and gather them from the farthest parts of the earth. Among them will be the blind and the lame, the pregnant woman and she who is giving birth—all together. They will return as a great company. 9 They will come with weeping, and with pleas for mercy, I will lead them. I will guide them to streams of water on a straight path where they will not stumble, for I have become a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. 10 Hear the word of the LORD, you nations; declare it in the distant coastlands and say: He who scattered Israel will gather them and watch over them like a shepherd cares for his flock. 11 For the LORD has ransomed Jacob and redeemed him from the hand of one stronger than he. 12 They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion, and they will be radiant because of the LORD's bounty—grain, new wine, olive oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will no longer languish in sorrow. 13 The young women will rejoice and dance, and the young men and the old together. I will turn their mourning into joy; I will comfort them and give them gladness in place of sorrow. 14 I will satisfy the priests with abundance, and my people will be filled with my goodness, declares the LORD. 15 This is what the LORD says: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping—Rachel weeping for her children, refusing to be comforted because they are no more. 16 This is what the LORD says: Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded, declares the LORD. They will return from the land of the enemy. 17 There is hope for your future, declares the LORD, and your children will return to their own land. 18 I have surely heard Ephraim’s lamenting: 'You disciplined me, and I was disciplined, like an untrained calf. Restore me, and I will return, for you are the LORD my God.' 19 After I turned away, I repented; after I came to understand, I struck my thigh in grief. I was ashamed and humiliated because I bore the disgrace of my youth. 20 Is Ephraim my dear son, my precious child? For as often as I speak against him, I still remember him. Therefore, my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, declares the LORD. 21 Set up road markers for yourself; make guideposts. Take note of the road, the way by which you traveled. Return, O virgin Israel, return to your towns. 22 How long will you wander, O unfaithful daughter? For the LORD has created something new in the land—a woman will surround a man. 23 This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Once again they will say this in the land of Judah and in its cities when I restore their fortunes: 'May the LORD bless you, O dwelling of righteousness, O holy mountain.' 24 People will live together in Judah and all its cities—farmers and those who move with the herds. 25 For I have satisfied the weary soul and replenished every languishing soul. 26 At this I awoke and looked around, and my sleep was pleasant to me. 27 Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of people and the seed of animals. 28 Just as I watched over them to uproot, tear down, demolish, destroy, and bring disaster, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, declares the LORD. 29 In those days, people will no longer say, 'The fathers ate sour grapes, and the children’s teeth were set on edge.' 30 Instead, each will die for their own sin; whoever eats sour grapes, their own teeth will be set on edge. 31 Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. 32 It will not be like the covenant that I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt—a covenant they broke, though I was a husband to them, declares the LORD. 33 This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 34 No longer will anyone teach their neighbor or their brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity and remember their sin no more. 35 This is what the LORD says, the one who sets the sun to give light by day, who established the laws of the moon and stars to give light by night, who stirs the sea and makes its waves roar—the LORD of Hosts is his name: 36 Only if these decrees vanish from my sight, declares the LORD, will the descendants of Israel ever cease to be a nation before me. 37 This is what the LORD says: If the heavens above can be measured and the foundations of the earth below can be explored, then I will reject all the descendants of Israel because of all they have done, declares the LORD.
  • Jer 32:36-41 : 36 Now therefore, this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says concerning this city about which you are saying, 'It has been handed over to the king of Babylon through sword, famine, and plague': 37 Behold, I will gather them from all the lands where I banished them in My anger, wrath, and great displeasure. I will bring them back to this place and let them live in safety. 38 They will be My people, and I will be their God. 39 I will give them one heart and one way so that they may always fear Me, for their own good and the good of their children after them. 40 I will make with them an everlasting covenant; I will never turn away from doing good to them. I will put the fear of Me in their hearts so that they will not turn away from Me. 41 I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land with all My heart and soul.
  • Jer 33:6-9 : 6 But I will bring it health and healing, I will heal them and reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth. 7 I will restore the fortunes of Judah and the fortunes of Israel, and I will rebuild them as they were at first. 8 I will cleanse them from all the iniquity they have committed against me and forgive all their iniquities of sin and rebellion against me. 9 Then this city will bring me joy, praise, and glory before all the nations of the earth who hear of all the good I do for it. They will tremble in awe because of all the goodness and peace I provide for it. 10 This is what the Lord says: You say of this place, 'It is desolate, without people or animals,' in the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted, without people, inhabitants, or animals. 11 The sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of the bridegroom and the bride, the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord, saying, 'Give thanks to the Lord Almighty, for the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever,' will again be heard. For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were at first, says the Lord. 12 This is what the Lord Almighty says: In this desolate place, without people or animals, and in all its towns, there will again be pastures for shepherds to rest their flocks. 13 In the towns of the hill country, the western foothills, and the Negev, in the territory of Benjamin, around Jerusalem, and in the towns of Judah, flocks will again pass under the hands of the one who counts them, says the Lord. 14 Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will fulfill the good promise I have made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah. 15 In those days and at that time, I will cause a righteous Branch to sprout for David, and he will administer justice and righteousness in the land. 16 In those days, Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely. This is the name by which she will be called: The Lord Our Righteousness. 17 For this is what the Lord says: David will never fail to have a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel. 18 Nor will the Levitical priests ever fail to have a man before me to offer burnt offerings, to present grain offerings, and to make sacrifices continually. 19 The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 20 This is what the Lord says: If you could break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night so that day and night would not come at their appointed time, 21 then my covenant with David my servant and my covenant with the Levitical priests who minister before me could also be broken, so that David would no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne. 22 Just as the stars in the sky cannot be counted and the sand on the seashore cannot be measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister before me. 23 The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 24 Have you not noticed what these people are saying: 'The Lord has rejected the two families he chose'? So they despise my people and no longer regard them as a nation. 25 This is what the Lord says: If I have not established my covenant with day and night and the fixed laws of heaven and earth, 26 then I will reject the descendants of Jacob and my servant David and will not choose one of his descendants to rule over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But I will restore their fortunes and have compassion on them.
