  • Jer 3:1-9 : 1 If a man divorces his wife and she leaves him to marry another, should he take her back again? Wouldn't such a land become completely defiled? You have lived as a prostitute with many lovers—yet you want to return to me? declares the LORD. 2 Lift up your eyes to the barren heights and see. Where have you not been violated? By the roads you sat waiting for lovers, like a nomad in the desert. You have defiled the land with your prostitution and wickedness. 3 Therefore, the showers have been withheld, and no spring rains have fallen. Yet you have the brazen face of a prostitute; you refuse to show any shame. 4 Have you not just now called to me, 'My Father, you are the friend of my youth'? 5 Will you always be angry? Will you remain so forever? This is what you say, but you do all the evil you can. 6 During the reign of King Josiah, the LORD said to me, "Have you seen what faithless Israel has done? But she did not return, and her unfaithful sister Judah saw it. 8 I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries. Yet I saw that her unfaithful sister Judah had no fear; she also went out and prostituted herself. 9 Because Israel's immorality mattered so little to her, she defiled the land and committed adultery with stone and wood.

You are the opposite.
  • Ezek 23:5-9 : 5 Oholah was unfaithful to me and lusted after her lovers—the Assyrians, who were near. 6 They were clothed in blue, governors and officials, all of them young and desirable men, skilled horsemen riding on horses. 7 She gave herself to them, all the elite of the Assyrians, and defiled herself with all the idols she lusted after. 8 She did not abandon the adulteries she began in Egypt, where men slept with her in her youth, fondling her virgin breasts and pouring out their lust upon her. 9 Therefore, I handed her over to her lovers, the Assyrians whom she lusted after. 10 They exposed her nakedness, seized her sons and daughters, and killed her with the sword. She became a byword among women, and they carried out judgment against her. 11 Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet she was even more corrupt in her lust, and her adulteries exceeded those of her sister.
  • Ezek 23:16-17 : 16 As soon as she saw them, she lusted after them and sent messengers to them in Chaldea. 17 Then the Babylonians came to her, to her bed of love, and defiled her with their lust. After she was defiled by them, she turned away from them in disgust.

You bathed yourself, painted your eyes, and adorned yourself with jewelry. 41 You sat on a glorious couch with a table prepared before it, where you placed my incense and my oil. 42 The sound of a carefree crowd was with her, and drunkards were brought from the desert. They put bracelets on their wrists and beautiful crowns on their heads. 43 Then I said about the one worn out by adultery, ‘Now they will continue their acts of fornication with her.’ 44 They went to her as men go to a prostitute. • Dan 9:5-8 : 5 we have sinned and done wrong; we have acted wickedly, rebelled, and turned away from Your commandments and judgments. 6 We have not listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our rulers, our ancestors, and to all the people of the land. 7 Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but shame covers our faces today—to the people of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and all Israel, both near and far, in all the countries where You have driven them because of their unfaithfulness to You. 8 O LORD, shame covers us—our kings, our rulers, and our ancestors—because we have sinned against You.

A spirit of prostitution has led them astray; they have been unfaithful under their God. 13 They sacrifice on the mountaintops and burn offerings on the hills, under oaks, poplars, and terebinths, where the shade is pleasant. Therefore your daughters turn to prostitution and your daughters-in-law to adultery. 14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit fornication, nor your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery. For the men themselves go aside with harlots and sacrifice with temple prostitutes, and a people without understanding will come to ruin. 15 Though you, Israel, play the harlot, let not Judah become guilty. • Rev 17:1-5 : 1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, 'Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters.' 2 With her, the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her immorality. 3 Then he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls. She held in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her immorality. 5 On her forehead was written a name: 'Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Prostitutes and of the Abominations of the Earth.'
