  • Ezek 34:2-9 : 2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy and say to them, the shepherds: This is what the Lord GOD says, 'Woe to the shepherds of Israel who have been feeding themselves! Should not shepherds feed the flock? 3 You eat the fat, wear the wool, and slaughter the fattened animals, but you do not feed the flock. 4 You have not strengthened the weak, healed the sick, bound up the injured, brought back the strays, or searched for the lost. Instead, you have ruled them harshly and brutally. 5 So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and they became food for all the wild animals; they were scattered. 6 My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. My flock was scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them. 7 Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD: 8 'As surely as I live,' declares the Lord GOD, 'because My flock has become prey and My flock has become food for every wild animal since there was no shepherd and My shepherds did not search for My flock, but the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock, 9 therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD. 10 This is what the Lord GOD says, 'Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will demand My flock from their hand and stop them from shepherding My flock. The shepherds will no longer feed themselves, for I will rescue My flock from their mouths, so it will no longer be food for them.'

  • Ezek 22:25-30 : 25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets within her, like a roaring lion that tears its prey; they have devoured lives, seized treasure and precious things, and made many widows within her. 26 Her priests do violence to my law and profane my holy things; they do not distinguish between the holy and the common or teach the difference between the unclean and the clean. They shut their eyes to my Sabbaths, and so I am profaned among them. 27 Her officials within her are like wolves tearing their prey; they shed blood and destroy lives to make unjust gain. 28 Her prophets plaster false visions for them, prophesying lies and saying, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says,’ when the LORD has not spoken. 29 The people of the land practice extortion and commit robbery; they oppress the poor and needy and mistreat the foreigner, denying them justice. 30 I searched for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before me on behalf of the land so that I would not destroy it, but I found no one.
  • Jer 23:1-2 : 1 Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture, declares the LORD. 2 Therefore, this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says concerning the shepherds who tend My people: You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and you have not attended to them. Behold, I am about to punish you for your evil deeds, declares the LORD.
  • Jer 23:9-9 : 9 Concerning the prophets: My heart is broken within me; all my bones tremble. I am like a drunken man, like one overcome by wine, because of the LORD and His holy words. 10 The land is full of adulterers; because of the curse, the land mourns, and the pastures of the wilderness are dried up. Their course is evil, and their power is misused. 11 For both prophet and priest have become corrupt. Even in My house I have found their wickedness, declares the LORD. 12 Therefore, their path will become for them like slippery places in the darkness. They will be pushed and fall there, for I will bring disaster upon them in the year of their punishment, declares the LORD. 13 Among the prophets of Samaria I saw something disgraceful: They prophesied by Baal and led My people Israel astray. 14 And among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing: They commit adultery and walk in lies. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one turns from their wickedness. They have all become to Me like Sodom, and the inhabitants like Gomorrah. 15 Therefore, this is what the LORD of Hosts says concerning the prophets: Behold, I will make them eat bitter wormwood and drink poisoned water, because from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has spread throughout the land. 16 This is what the LORD of Hosts says: Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They are filling you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD. 17 They keep saying to those who despise the LORD, ‘The LORD says you will have peace.’ And to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his heart they say, ‘No harm will come to you.’ 18 For who has stood in the council of the LORD to see and hear His word? Who has paid attention to His word and obeyed it? 19 Behold, the storm of the LORD has gone forth in wrath, a whirlwind swirling down upon the heads of the wicked. 20 The anger of the LORD will not turn back until He has fully accomplished the purposes of His heart. In the days to come, you will clearly understand it. 21 I did not send these prophets, yet they ran. I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied. 22 But if they had stood in My council, they would have proclaimed My words to My people and turned them back from their evil ways and deeds. 23 Am I only a God nearby, declares the LORD, and not a God far away? 24 Can anyone hide in secret places where I cannot see him? declares the LORD. Do I not fill the heavens and the earth? declares the LORD. 25 I have heard what the prophets who prophesy falsely in My name are saying: 'I have dreamed! I have dreamed!' 26 How long will this continue in the hearts of the prophets who prophesy falsehood, these prophets of deceit in their own hearts? 27 They plan to make My people forget My name through their dreams, which they tell to one another, just as their fathers forgot My name because of Baal. 28 Let the prophet who has a dream recount his dream, but let the one who has My word speak it faithfully. For what is straw compared to grain? declares the LORD. 29 Is not My word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that shatters a rock? 30 Therefore, I am against the prophets, declares the LORD, who steal My words from each other. 31 Yes, I am against the prophets, declares the LORD, who wag their tongues and declare, ‘This is the LORD’s declaration.’ 32 Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams, declares the LORD. They tell them and lead My people astray with their lies and reckless boasting. Yet I did not send or command them to do so, and they do not benefit these people at all, declares the LORD.
  • Isa 56:10-12 : 10 Israel's watchmen are blind; they all lack knowledge. They are all mute dogs; they cannot bark. They lie around dreaming, loving to sleep. 11 Yet the dogs are greedy; they never have enough.
