'Go and say to Ebed-Melech the Cushite, This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: I am about to bring my words against this city for disaster and not for good, and they will happen before your eyes on that day.

Jeremiah did so, 13 and they pulled Jeremiah up with the ropes and lifted him out of the cistern. And Jeremiah stayed in the courtyard of the guard.
