It rose up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam near Zarethan. Meanwhile, the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea) was completely cut off, and the people crossed opposite Jericho. 17 The priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firmly on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan, while all Israel crossed on dry ground until the entire nation had finished crossing the Jordan.

- Heb 4:3-9 : 3 For we who have believed are entering that rest, just as He said, "As I swore in My wrath, 'They shall not enter My rest,'" even though His works have been finished since the foundation of the world. 4 For somewhere He has said this about the seventh day: "And God rested on the seventh day from all His works." 5 And again, in the same passage, "They shall not enter My rest." 6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who previously had the good news proclaimed to them did not enter because of disobedience, 7 He again appoints a certain day—'Today'—saying through David after such a long time, as it was previously stated: "Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts." 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. 9 Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for the people of God. 10 For the one who has entered His rest has also rested from his own works, just as God did from His. 11 Let us then make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall into the same example of disobedience.
