Verse 54
You shall apportion the land by lot according to your clans. You shall give more to the larger groups and less to the smaller groups. The place where the lot falls for each shall be theirs. You shall divide land according to the tribes of your ancestors.

- Josh 15:1-9 : 1 The allotment for the tribe of the descendants of Judah, by their clans, extended to the southern boundary, reaching the Edom border and the Wilderness of Zin in the Negev at its southernmost point. 2 Their southern border began at the edge of the Salt Sea, from the southern bay of the sea. 3 The boundary moved southward to the ascent of Akrabbim, passed through Zin, went up from the south to Kadesh-barnea, passed to Hezron, went up to Addar, and turned toward Karkaa. 4 It then passed to Azmon and continued to the Brook of Egypt, with its boundary reaching the Mediterranean Sea. This was the southern boundary. 5 The eastern boundary was the Salt Sea, up to the mouth of the Jordan. The northern boundary started from the northern bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan. 6 The boundary went up to Beth-hoglah and passed north of Beth-arabah, then ascended to the stone of Bohan, son of Reuben. 7 The boundary ascended to Debir from the Valley of Achor and turned northward toward Gilgal, which faces the Ascent of Adummim, south of the valley. Then it went to the waters of En-shemesh and ended at En-rogel. 8 The boundary ascended by the Valley of Ben Hinnom to the southern slope of the Jebusite city (that is, Jerusalem). Then it went up to the top of the hill that overlooks the Valley of Hinnom to the west, at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim. 9 From the top of the mountain, the boundary extended to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, went out to the cities of Mount Ephron, and then the boundary was marked out to Baalah (which is Kiriath-jearim). 10 The boundary turned westward from Baalah to Mount Seir, passed along to the northern slope of Mount Jearim (that is, Chesalon), went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed by Timnah. 11 It continued to the northern slope of Ekron, turned toward Shikkeron, passed by Mount Baalah, and went on to Jabneel, ending at the sea. 12 The western boundary was the coastline of the Great Sea. This was the boundary around the clans of the descendants of Judah.
- Josh 16:1-4 : 1 The lot for the sons of Joseph went out from the Jordan at Jericho, eastward to the waters of Jericho, into the wilderness, and ascended from Jericho through the hill country to Bethel. 2 It went out from Bethel to Luz, passed over to the territory of the Archite at Ataroth. 3 It descended westward to the territory of the Japhletite, as far as the border of Lower Beth-horon, and on to Gezer, and it ended at the sea. 4 So the sons of Joseph—Manasseh and Ephraim—received their inheritance.
- Josh 17:1-9 : 1 A portion of land was allotted to the tribe of Manasseh, for he was Joseph's firstborn. To Machir, the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, since he was a man of war, Gilead and Bashan were given. 2 The rest of the families of Manasseh also received their inheritance, including the families of Abiezer, Helek, Asriel, Shechem, Hepher, and Shemida—these were the male descendants of Manasseh, the son of Joseph, according to their families. 3 Now Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, only daughters. These are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. 4 They approached Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the leaders, saying, 'The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers.' So, in accordance with the LORD's command, they were given an inheritance among their father's brothers. 5 Ten portions fell to Manasseh, in addition to the land of Gilead and Bashan, which is beyond the Jordan. 6 For the daughters of Manasseh received an inheritance among his sons. The land of Gilead belonged to the rest of the descendants of Manasseh. 7 The territory of Manasseh stretched from Asher to Michmethath, which is near Shechem. Then the boundary ran southward to the inhabitants of En Tappuah. 8 The land of Tappuah belonged to Manasseh, but Tappuah itself, on the boundary of Manasseh, belonged to the descendants of Ephraim. 9 The boundary descended to the Wadi Kanah, southward of the wadi. These towns belonged to Ephraim within the towns of Manasseh. The boundary of Manasseh was on the north side of the wadi and ended at the sea. 10 To the south, the land belonged to Ephraim; to the north, it belonged to Manasseh. The sea formed its boundary. Manasseh touched Asher on the north and Issachar on the east. 11 Within Issachar and Asher, Manasseh possessed Beth-shean and its villages, Ibleam and its villages, the inhabitants of Dor and its villages, the inhabitants of En-dor and its villages, the inhabitants of Taanach and its villages, the inhabitants of Megiddo and its villages, and the three regions of Napheth. 12 But the descendants of Manasseh were unable to drive out the inhabitants of these cities. So the Canaanites continued to live in the land. 13 However, when the Israelites grew stronger, they subjected the Canaanites to forced labor but did not completely drive them out.
- Josh 18:11-19:48 : 11 The lot of the tribe of Benjamin, according to their clans, came up. The territory allotted to their lot lay between the tribes of Judah and Joseph. 12 Their northern boundary began at the Jordan, ascended to the northern slope of Jericho, went up to the hill country westward, and ended at the wilderness of Beth-aven. 13 From there, the boundary crossed over to Luz, to the southern slope of Luz (that is, Bethel). Then it went down to Ataroth-addar on the hill south of Lower Beth-horon. 14 The boundary turned around on the western side, curving to the south, facing the mountain that lies in front of Beth-horon to the south, and ended at Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), a town of the sons of Judah. This was the western boundary. 15 The southern boundary began at the edge of Kiriath-jearim and extended westward to the spring of the Waters of Nephtoah. 16 It descended to the edge of the hill facing the Valley of Ben-Hinnom in the northern part of the Valley of Rephaim. Then it went down to the Valley of Hinnom, along the slope of the Jebusites, and down to En-rogel. 17 It curved northward and went out to En-shemesh, and from there to Geliloth, opposite the ascent of Adummim. Then it descended to the Stone of Bohan, the son of Reuben. 18 The boundary continued to the northern slope opposite the Arabah and went down into the Arabah. 19 The boundary passed along to the northern slope of Beth-hoglah and ended at the northern bay of the Salt Sea at the southern end of the Jordan. This was the southern boundary. 20 The Jordan formed its eastern boundary. This was the inheritance of the tribe of Benjamin, according to its boundaries and clans. 21 The cities of the tribe of Benjamin, according to their families, were Jericho, Beth-hoglah, and Emek-keziz. 22 Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, and Bethel, 23 Avvim, Parah, and Ophrah, 24 Chephar-ammoni, Ophni, and Geba—twelve cities with their villages. 25 Gibeon, Ramah, and Beeroth, 26 Mizpeh, Chephirah, and Mozah, 27 Rekem, Irpeel, and Taralah, 28 Zela, Haeleph, Jebus (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeath, and Kiriath—fourteen cities with their villages. This was the inheritance of the tribe of Benjamin, divided according to their families. 1 The second lot came out for Simeon, for the tribe of the descendants of Simeon by their families. Their inheritance was within the inheritance of the descendants of Judah. 2 In their inheritance, they had Beersheba, Sheba, and Moladah, 3 Hazar-shual, Balah, and Azem, 4 Eltolad, Bethul, and Hormah, 5 Ziklag, Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susah, 6 Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen—thirteen cities with their villages. 7 Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan—four cities with their villages, 8 and all the villages around these cities as far as Baalath-beer (Ramah of the Negev). This was the inheritance of the tribe of the descendants of Simeon by their families. 9 The inheritance of the descendants of Simeon was part of the territory of the descendants of Judah, because the portion for the descendants of Judah was too large for them. So the descendants of Simeon received an inheritance within Judah's territory. 10 The third lot came up for the descendants of Zebulun by their families. The border of their inheritance reached as far as Sarid. 11 Their border went up westward to Maralah, touched Dabbesheth, and reached the brook that is in front of Jokneam. 12 From Sarid, it turned eastward toward the sunrise to the border of Kisloth-tabor, went out to Daberath, and went up to Japhia. 13 From there, it passed on eastward to Gath-hepher and to Eth-kazin; it extended to Rimmon and curved around to Neah. 14 The border circled around on the north to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtahel. 15 It included Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem—twelve cities with their villages. 16 This was the inheritance of the descendants of Zebulun by their families—these cities with their villages. 17 The fourth lot came out for the tribe of the descendants of Issachar, according to their families. 18 Their territory included Jezreel, Chesulloth, and Shunem, 19 Hapharaim, Shion, and Anaharath, 20 Rabbith, Kishion, and Ebez, 21 Remeth, En-gannim, En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez. 22 The border reached Tabor, Shahazimah, and Beth-shemesh, and ended at the Jordan—sixteen cities with their villages. 23 This was the inheritance of the tribe of the descendants of Issachar, according to their families—the cities and their villages. 24 The fifth lot came out for the tribe of the descendants of Asher, according to their families. 25 Their territory included Helkath, Hali, Beten, and Achshaph, 26 Alammelech, Amad, and Mishal, and it reached Carmel to the west and Shihor-libnath. 27 It turned eastward to Beth-dagon, touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtahel northward to Beth-emek and Neiel, and extended to Cabul on the left. 28 It included Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, as far as great Sidon. 29 The border turned to Ramah and up to the fortified city of Tyre; then it turned to Hosah and ended at the sea. The region included Mahalab, Achzib, 30 Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob—twenty-two cities with their villages. 31 This was the inheritance of the tribe of the descendants of Asher, according to their families—the cities and their villages. 32 The sixth lot came out for the tribe of the descendants of Naphtali, according to their families. 33 Their territory went from Heleph and from the oak in Zaanannim, including Adami-nekeb and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum, and ended at the Jordan. 34 The border turned westward to Aznoth-tabor, continued to Hukkok, touched Zebulun on the south, Asher on the west, and Judah at the Jordan toward the sunrise. 35 The fortified cities were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth, 36 Adamah, Ramah, and Hazor, 37 Kedesh, Edrei, En-hazor, 38 Iron, Migdal-el, Horem, Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh—nineteen cities with their villages. 39 This was the inheritance of the tribe of the descendants of Naphtali, according to their families—the cities and their villages. 40 The seventh lot came out for the tribe of the descendants of Dan according to their families. 41 The territory of their inheritance included Zorah, Eshtaol, and Ir-shemesh, 42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon, and Ithlah, 43 Elon, Timnah, and Ekron, 44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon, and Baalath, 45 Jehud, Bene-berak, Gath-rimmon, 46 and the waters of Jarkon and Rakkon, along the border opposite Joppa. 47 The border of the descendants of Dan went beyond them. So the descendants of Dan went up and fought against Leshem, captured it, struck it with the sword, took possession of it, and settled there. They renamed Leshem as Dan, after the name of their ancestor Dan. 48 This was the inheritance of the tribe of the descendants of Dan according to their families—the cities and their villages.
