Verse 22

Afterwards, the Levites came to perform their duties in the tent of meeting under the supervision of Aaron and his sons. They did as the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites.

The gatekeepers were stationed at each gate and did not leave their posts, since their fellow Levites prepared their portions for them.
