6Now these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes; that in us ye might learn not [to go] beyond the things which are written; that no one of you be puffed up for the one against the other.
7Nay, already it is altogether a defect in you, that ye have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather take wrong? why not rather be defrauded?
18Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you.
10Therefore, if I come, I will bring to remembrance his works which he doeth, prating against us with wicked words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and them that would he forbiddeth and casteth [them] out of the church.
25not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting [one another] ; and so much the more, as ye see the day drawing nigh.
4wherein they think it strange that ye run not with [them] into the same excess of riot, speaking evil of [you] :
26What is it then, brethren? When ye come together, each one hath a psalm, hath a teaching, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
2Now I praise you that ye remember me in all things, and hold fast the traditions, even as I delivered them to you.
10For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not when present deal sharply, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up, and not for casting down.

9I wrote unto you in my epistle to have no company with fornicators;
16But now ye glory in your vauntings: all such glorying is evil.
5I say [this] to move you to shame. What, cannot there be [found] among you one wise man who shall be able to decide between his brethren,

6Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
8But food will not commend us to God: neither, if we eat not, are we the worse; nor, if we eat, are we the better.
11but as it is, I wrote unto you not to keep company, if any man that is named a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one no, not to eat.
1Now concerning spiritual [gifts], brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
17But ye, beloved, remember ye the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
7which is not another [gospel] only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
4lest by any means, if there come with me any of Macedonia and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be put to shame in this confidence.
16the one [do it] of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel;
11Wherefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as also ye do.
13For [I say] not [this] that others may be eased [and] ye distressed;
