1Finally then, brethren, we beseech and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that, as ye received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, even as ye do walk,--that ye abound more and more.
2For ye know what charge we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
11Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way unto you:
12and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we also [do] toward you;
13to the end he may establish your hearts unblameable in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
4in the name of our Lord Jesus, ye being gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus,
17But we, brethren, being bereaved of you for a short season, in presence not in heart, endeavored the more exceedingly to see your face with great desire:
15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we that are alive, that are left unto the coming of the Lord, shall in no wise precede them that are fallen asleep.
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;
17then we that are alive, that are left, shall together with them be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1For yourselves, brethren, know our entering in unto you, that it hath not been found vain:
10when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be marvelled at in all them that believed (because our testimony unto you was believed) in that day.
5how that our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and [in] much assurance; even as ye know what manner of men we showed ourselves toward you for your sake.
1This is now, beloved, the second epistle that I write unto you; and in both of them I stir up your sincere mind by putting you in remembrance;
2that ye should remember the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and the commandments of the Lord and Saviour through your apostles:

25not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting [one another] ; and so much the more, as ye see the day drawing nigh.
15And in this confidence I was minded to come first unto you, that ye might have a second benefit;
17But ye, beloved, remember ye the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
30Now I beseech you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, [even] Jesus, who delivereth us from the wrath to come.
5And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ.
6Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which they received of us.
19And I exhort [you] the more exceedingly to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

12But we beseech you, brethren, to know them that labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

7for this cause, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your faith:
4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief:
7and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire,
