1And Job again took up his parable, and said,
2Oh that I were as in the months of old, As in the days when God watched over me;
3When his lamp shined upon my head, And by his light I walked through darkness;

3(For my life is yet whole in me, And the spirit of God is in my nostrils);
16For God hath made my heart faint, And the Almighty hath terrified me;
17Because I was not cut off before the darkness, Neither did he cover the thick darkness from my face.
23I was also perfect with him, And I kept myself from mine iniquity.
13With [God] is wisdom and might; He hath counsel and understanding.
5Verily my house is not so with God; Yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, Ordered in all things, and sure: For it is all my salvation, and all [my] desire, Although he maketh it not to grow.
15If I had said, I will speak thus; Behold, I had dealt treacherously with the generation of thy children.
12And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, And settest me before thy face for ever.
14What then shall I do when God riseth up? And when he visiteth, what shall I answer him?
14For he performeth that which is appointed for me: And many such things are with him.
15I was eyes to the blind, And feet was I to the lame.
15Or with princes that had gold, Who filled their houses with silver:
16Or as a hidden untimely birth I had not been, As infants that never saw light.
21If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, Because I saw my help in the gate:
10And be it still my consolation, Yea, let me exult in pain that spareth not, That I have not denied the words of the Holy One.
4Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding.
2Yea, the strength of their hands, whereto should it profit me? Men in whom ripe age is perished.
10But he knoweth the way that I take; When he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
11My foot hath held fast to his steps; His way have I kept, and turned not aside.
15My frame was not hidden from thee, When I was made in secret, [And] curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16Thine eyes did see mine unformed substance; And in thy book they were all written, [Even] the days that were ordained [for me], When as yet there was none of them.
