6If thou put the brethren in mind of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which thou hast followed [until now] :
8Faithful is the saying, and concerning these things I desire that thou affirm confidently, to the end that they who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men:
1Put them in mind to be in subjection to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready unto every good work,
2to speak evil of no man, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all meekness toward all men.
3giving no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our ministration be not blamed;
4but in everything commending ourselves, as ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
2beholding your chaste behavior [coupled] with fear.
7For the bishop must be blameless, as God's steward; not self-willed, not soon angry, no brawler, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre;
8but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled;
9holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict the gainsayers.
21If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, meet for the master's use, prepared unto every good work.
22But flee youthful lusts, and follow after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
1Putting away therefore all wickedness, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
2as newborn babes, long for the spiritual milk which is without guile, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation;
21for we take thought for things honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
14as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves according to your former lusts in [the time of] your ignorance:
15Be diligent in these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy progress may be manifest unto all.
17Brethren, be ye imitators together of me, and mark them that so walk even as ye have us for an ensample.
7Moreover he must have good testimony from them that are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
8Deacons in like manner [must be] grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
1Thou therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2And the things which thou hast heard from me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
2but we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
7But as ye abound in everything, [in] faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and [in] all earnestness, and [in] your love to us, [see] that ye abound in this grace also. [
7For yourselves know how ye ought to imitate us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
14And let our [people] also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
6and in [your] knowledge self-control; and in [your] self-control patience; and in [your] patience godliness;
7and in [your] godliness brotherly kindness; and in [your] brotherly kindness love.
10But thou didst follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,
14that thou keep the commandment, without spot, without reproach, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for these things, give diligence that ye may be found in peace, without spot and blameless in his sight.
