12 We are not again requesting your approval, but we are giving you the chance of taking pride in us, so that you may be able to give an answer to those whose glory is in seeming, and not in the heart.
9 For they themselves give the news of how we came among you; and how you were turned from images to God, to the worship of a true and living God,
10 And after you have undergone pain for a little time, the God of all grace who has given you a part in his eternal glory through Christ Jesus, will himself give you strength and support, and make you complete in every good thing;
13 For this reason it is my prayer that you may not become feeble because of my troubles for you, which are your glory.
17 Brothers, take me as your example, and take note of those who are walking after the example we have given.
