Now then, tell my servant David: 'This is what the LORD of Hosts says: I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people Israel.

`And now, thus dost thou say to My servant, to David, Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, I have taken thee from the habitation, from after the sheep, to be leader over My people Israel,

2In the past, even when Saul was king, you were the one who led Israel in and out. And the LORD your God said to you, 'You will shepherd my people Israel, and you will be ruler over my people Israel.'

5For I have not lived in a house from the day I brought Israel out until this very day. I have moved from tent to tent and from tabernacle to tabernacle.
6In all the places where I walked with Israel, did I ever say to any of the judges of Israel whom I commanded to shepherd my people, "Why have you not built me a house of cedar?"
8I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth.
9I will provide a place for my people Israel and plant them so they can live in their own land and not be disturbed again. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning,
10and as they have done since the time I appointed judges over my people Israel. I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore, I declare to you that the LORD himself will build a house for you.
11When your days are fulfilled and you go to be with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom.
15He said, 'Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father David and with His hand has fulfilled it, saying:'
16'Since the day I brought My people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city from all the tribes of Israel to build a house where My name might be, but I chose David to rule My people Israel.'
2"In the past, even when Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and brought them back. And the LORD said to you, ‘You will shepherd my people Israel, and you will become their ruler.’”
23I will place over them one shepherd, My servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd.
24I, the LORD, will be their God, and My servant David will be a prince among them. I, the LORD, have spoken.
17As for you, if you walk before Me as David your father did, and do all I have commanded, and observe My statutes and judgments,
18Then I will establish your royal throne, as I made a covenant with David your father, saying, 'You will never fail to have a man to rule over Israel.'
7Then Nathan said to David, "You are the man! This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: 'I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul.
5"Go and tell my servant David, 'Thus says the LORD: Is it you who would build me a house to dwell in?
15But the Lord took me from tending the flock and said to me, 'Go, prophesy to My people Israel.'
18Then King David went in and sat before the LORD, and he said, "Who am I, O Lord GOD, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?
19And yet this was a small thing in your eyes, O Lord GOD. You have also spoken of your servant's house for a long time to come, and this is instruction for mankind, O Lord GOD!
20And what more can David say to you? For you know your servant, O Lord GOD.
21Because of your word and according to your own heart, you have done all this great thing to make your servant know it.
27For you, O LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have revealed this to your servant, saying, 'I will build you a house.' Therefore your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you.
7Go and tell Jeroboam, 'This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I raised you up from among the people and appointed you ruler over My people Israel.
8I tore the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it to you. But you have not been like My servant David, who kept My commandments and followed Me with all his heart, doing only what was right in My eyes.
24My servant David will be king over them, and there will be one shepherd for all of them. They will follow My laws and carefully obey My decrees.
16Then King David went in and sat before the LORD, and he said: "Who am I, LORD God, and what is my house, that you have brought me this far?
17And as if this were not enough in your sight, O God, you have spoken about the future of the house of your servant. You have regarded me as though I were of high rank, LORD God.
4Yet the LORD, the God of Israel, chose me out of all my father's house to be king over Israel forever. He chose Judah as leader, and within the house of Judah, He was pleased to choose my father's family. And among the sons of my father, He was pleased with me to make me king over all Israel.
25And now, O LORD God, confirm forever the word that you have spoken concerning your servant and his house, and do as you have spoken.
18Now do it! For the Lord has promised David, 'By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel from the Philistines and from all their enemies.’'
16'Now, LORD, God of Israel, keep for Your servant David, my father, what You promised him, saying: "You shall never lack a man to sit before Me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons are careful in their ways, walking in My law as you have walked before Me."
17'Now then, LORD, God of Israel, let Your word that You spoke to Your servant David be confirmed.
34David said to Saul, 'Your servant has been tending his father’s sheep. Whenever a lion or a bear came and carried off a lamb from the flock,'
25'Now, LORD, God of Israel, keep for Your servant David, my father, what You promised him: “You shall never fail to have a descendant to sit on the throne of Israel before Me, if only your descendants are careful to walk before Me as you have walked before Me.”'
6But I have chosen Jerusalem for My name to be there, and I have chosen David to rule over My people Israel.'
17For this is what the Lord says: David will never fail to have a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel.
5then I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised your father David, saying, 'You will never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.'
7Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD:
23"And now, LORD, let the word you have spoken concerning your servant and his house be established forever. Do as you promised,
35You are to go up with him, and he is to sit on my throne and reign in my place. I have appointed him ruler over Israel and Judah.'
