7After the LORD had spoken these words to Job, He said to Eliphaz the Temanite, 'My anger burns against you and your two friends, because you have not spoken the truth about Me as My servant Job has.'
1Then Job replied and said:
10It would still be my comfort— I would even exult in the midst of unrelenting pain— for I have not denied the words of the Holy One.
18So I spoke to the people in the morning, and in the evening my wife died. And the next morning I did as I was commanded.
14Yet you ask, 'Why?' Because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth. You have been unfaithful to her, though she is your companion and the wife of your covenant.
9"No one in this house is greater than I am. He has not withheld anything from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?"
2Do you think this is justice, when you say, 'My righteousness is greater than God's'?
20But if you have gone astray while under your husband’s authority and defiled yourself, and if a man other than your husband has had sexual relations with you—
23But his wife said to him, "If the Lord had intended to kill us, He would not have accepted a burnt offering and a grain offering from our hands, nor shown us all these things, nor let us hear such things now."
36I wish that Job might be tested to the end for answering like wicked men.
31You would plunge me into a pit, and even my clothes would abhor me.
6Though I am innocent, I am counted a liar; my wound is incurable, though I have committed no offense.
