1

A Song or Psalm of Asaph. Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace{H8799)}, and be not still{H8799)}, O God.

2

For, lo, thine enemies{H8802)} make a tumult{H8799)}: and they that hate{H8764)} thee have lifted up{H8804)} the head.

3

They have taken crafty{H8686)} counsel against thy people, and consulted{H8691)} against thy hidden ones{H8803)}.

4

They have said{H8804)}, Come{H8798)}, and let us cut them off{H8686)} from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance{H8735)}.

5

For they have consulted{H8738)} together with one consent: they are{H8799)} confederate against thee:

6

The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

7

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants{H8802)} of Tyre;

8

Assur also is joined{H8738)} with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

9

Do{H8798)} unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:

10

Which perished{H8738)} at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.

11

Make{H8798)} their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:

12

Who said{H8804)}, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession{H8799)}.

13

O my God, make{H8798)} them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

14

As the fire burneth{H8799)} a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire{H8762)};

15

So persecute{H8799)} them with thy tempest, and make them afraid{H8762)} with thy storm.

16

Fill{H8761)} their faces with shame; that they may seek{H8762)} thy name, O LORD.

17

Let them be confounded{H8799)} and troubled{H8735)} for ever; yea, let them be put to shame{H8799)}, and perish{H8799)}:

18

That men may know{H8799)} that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
