And she said to him, My lord, you swore by the LORD your God to your servant, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.

11 Therefore Nathan spoke to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith reigns, and David our lord does not know it?
12 Now therefore come, let me, I pray you, give you advice, that you may save your own life, and the life of your son Solomon.
13 Go and approach King David, and say to him, Did you not, my lord, O king, swear to your servant, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? Why then does Adonijah reign?
14 Behold, while you yet speak there with the king, I also will come in after you, and confirm your words.
15 And Bathsheba went to the king into the chamber; and the king was very old, and Abishag the Shunammite was serving the king.
16 And Bathsheba bowed and did homage to the king. And the king said, What do you wish?
16 And now I ask one request of you, do not deny me. And she said unto him, Speak on.
17 And he said, Please speak to King Solomon, for he will not refuse you, that he would give me Abishag the Shunammite as a wife.
18 And Bathsheba said, Very well; I will speak for you to the king.
19 Bathsheba therefore went to King Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself to her, and sat down on his throne, and had a seat set for the king's mother; and she sat at his right hand.
20 Then she said, I desire one small petition of you; please do not deny me. And the king said to her, Ask on, my mother, for I will not refuse you.
21 And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother as his wife.
22 And King Solomon answered and said to his mother, And why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also; for he is my elder brother—for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.
23 Then King Solomon swore by the Lord, saying, God do so to me, and more, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life.
24 Now therefore, as the Lord lives, who has established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who has made me a house, as He promised, Adonijah shall be put to death today.
24 And Nathan said, My lord, O king, have you said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?
20 And you, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon you, that you should tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.
21 Otherwise, it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted as offenders.
13 And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, Do you come peaceably? And he said, Peaceably.
14 He said moreover, I have something to say unto you. And she said, Speak on.
18 And now, behold, Adonijah reigns; and now, my lord the king, you do not know it.
46 And also Solomon sits on the throne of the kingdom.
47 Moreover, the king's servants came to bless our lord King David, saying, May God make the name of Solomon better than your name, and make his throne greater than your throne. And the king bowed himself upon the bed.
48 And also thus said the king, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who has granted one to sit on my throne this day, my own eyes seeing it.
35 Then you shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my place; and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.
36 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king and said, Amen. May the LORD God of my lord the king say so too.
37 As the LORD has been with my lord the king, so may He be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord King David.
8 And Solomon said to God, You have shown great mercy to David my father, and have made me to reign in his place.
9 Now, O LORD God, let your promise to David my father be established: for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
11 The LORD has sworn in truth to David; He will not turn from it: Of the fruit of your body I will set upon your throne.
43 And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily, our lord King David has made Solomon king.
12 Then the woman said, Let your maidservant, I pray you, speak one word to my lord the king. And he said, Speak on.
6 And Solomon said, You have shown to your servant David my father great mercy, as he walked before you in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with you; and you have kept for him this great kindness, that you have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
42 And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said to him, Did I not make you swear by the Lord, and warned you, saying, Know for certain, on the day you go out and walk abroad anywhere, that you shall surely die? And you said to me, The word I have heard is good.
4 That the Lord may continue His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, If your children take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you a man on the throne of Israel.
15 You who have kept with your servant David my father what you promised him; and spoke with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is today.
16 Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father what you have promised him, saying, There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that your children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as you have walked before me.
21 Swear now therefore unto me by the LORD, that you will not cut off my descendants after me, and that you will not destroy my name out of my father's house.
15 Now therefore I have come to speak of this thing to my lord the king, because the people have made me afraid: and your maidservant said, I will now speak to the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his maidservant.
16 For the king will hear, to deliver his maidservant from the hand of the man who would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.
11 And it shall happen, when your days are fulfilled that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, who shall be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.
45 And King Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the Lord forever.
