1 And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.
2 But Jonathan, Saul's son, delighted greatly in David; and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeks to kill you; now therefore, I pray you, be on guard until the morning, and stay in a secret place, and hide yourself:
3 And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will speak with my father about you; and what I observe, that I will tell you.
4 And Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father, and said to him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he has not sinned against you, and because his deeds have been very good toward you:
5 For he put his life in his hand, and killed the Philistine, and the LORD worked a great salvation for all Israel; you saw it, and rejoiced; why then will you sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?
6 And Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan; and Saul swore, As the LORD lives, he shall not be killed.
7 And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan showed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as in times past.
25 How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, you were slain in your high places.
26 I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant have you been to me: your love to me was wonderful, surpassing the love of women.
3 And David swore moreover, and said, Your father certainly knows that I have found favor in your eyes; and he says, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly, as the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death.
4 Then Jonathan said to David, Whatever your soul desires, I will do it for you.
11 And Jonathan said to David, Come, and let us go out into the field. And they went out both of them into the field.
12 And Jonathan said to David, O LORD God of Israel, when I have sounded my father about tomorrow any time, or the third day, and behold, if there is good toward David, and I do not send to you, and show it to you;
13 The LORD do so and much more to Jonathan: but if it pleases my father to do you evil, then I will show it to you, and send you away, that you may go in peace: and the LORD be with you, as He has been with my father.
22 So it came to pass on the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people that were with Saul and Jonathan; but they were found with Saul and Jonathan his son.
16 And it came to pass, when David had finished speaking these words to Saul, that Saul said, Is this your voice, my son David? And Saul lifted up his voice and wept.
35 And it came to pass in the morning, that Jonathan went out into the field at the time appointed with David, and a little lad with him.

45 But the people said to Saul, "Shall Jonathan die, who has brought this great deliverance in Israel? Far be it! As the LORD lives, not one hair of his head shall fall to the ground, for he has worked with God today." So the people rescued Jonathan, and he did not die.
2 The Philistines pursued Saul and his sons, and they killed Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malchishua, Saul's sons.
21 Moreover, the Hebrews who had been with the Philistines before that time, who went up with them into the camp, also turned to be with the Israelites who were with Saul and Jonathan.
12 And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until evening, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they had fallen by the sword.
17 Saul said to the people who were with him, "Number now and see who has gone from us." When they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and his armorbearer were not there.
40 He said to all Israel, "You be on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side." The people said to Saul, "Do what seems good to you."
28 And Saul saw and knew that the LORD was with David, and that Michal, Saul's daughter, loved him.
1 And David said, Is there still anyone left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?
13 Jonathan climbed up on his hands and feet, and his armorbearer after him, and they fell before Jonathan, and his armorbearer killed them after him.
16 But all Israel and Judah loved David, because he went out and came in before them.
2 And the Philistines closely pursued Saul and his sons; and the Philistines killed Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.
