22 And David swore to Saul. And Saul went home; but David and his men went up to the stronghold.
12 So David's young men turned away, and went back, and came and told him all these words.
11 And the servants of Achish said to him, Is this not David the king of the land? Did they not sing to one another of him in dances, saying, Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands?
14 And David sent messengers to Ishbosheth, Saul's son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, whom I espoused to me for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.
16 And it came to pass, when David had finished speaking these words to Saul, that Saul said, Is this your voice, my son David? And Saul lifted up his voice and wept.
57 When David returned from killing the Philistine, Abner took him and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand.
58 Saul said to him, Whose son are you, young man? David answered, I am the son of your servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.

8 That all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that shows me that my son has made a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or shows to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
7 And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.
8 And Saul was very angry, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed only thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom?
9 And when David's young men came, they spoke to Nabal according to all these words in the name of David, and then they stopped.
25 The men of Israel said, Have you seen this man that has come up? Surely he has come up to defy Israel. The king will enrich the man who kills him with great riches, will give him his daughter, and make his father's house free in Israel.
26 David spoke to the men standing by him, asking, What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?
34 David said to Saul, Your servant kept his father's sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb from the flock,
16 And David said to him, Your blood be upon your head; for your mouth has testified against you, saying, I have slain the LORD'S anointed.
