22And David swore to Saul. And Saul went home; but David and his men went up to the stronghold.
13So Gad came to David, and told him, and said to him, Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? or will you flee three months before your enemies, while they pursue you? or shall there be three days' pestilence in your land? Now consider, and see what answer I shall return to Him who sent me.
14And David said to Gad, I am in great distress: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies are great; and do not let me fall into the hand of man.
25And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him, and struck the Philistines from Geba until you come to Gezer.
18So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel at Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and lived in Naioth.
3And Saul camped on the hill of Hachilah, which is before Jeshimon, by the road. But David remained in the wilderness, and he saw that Saul had come after him into the wilderness.
23And when David inquired of the LORD, he said, You shall not go up, but circle around behind them and come upon them opposite the mulberry trees.
14And David said to all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and strike the city with the edge of the sword.
15But David went back and forth from Saul to feed his father's sheep at Bethlehem.
16And David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then at Bethlehem.

7So David restrained his servants with these words and did not allow them to rise against Saul. But Saul rose up out of the cave and went on his way.
16Then some of the children of Benjamin and Judah came to David at the stronghold.
28See, I will stay in the plain of the wilderness, until word comes from you to confirm me.
14David inquired again of God; and God said to him, Do not go up after them; turn away from them and come upon them opposite the mulberry trees.
