6 But in the twenty-third year of King Jehoash, the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.
7 Then King Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest and the other priests, and said to them, 'Why have you not repaired the breaches of the house? Therefore, do not receive any more money from your acquaintances but deliver it for the breaches of the house.'
8 The priests consented to receive no more money from the people nor to repair the breaches of the house.
11 Now it came to pass, that when the chest was brought to the king's office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king's scribe and the high priest's officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to its place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.
12 And the king and Jehoiada gave it to those who did the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the LORD, and also those who worked in iron and bronze to mend the house of the LORD.
13 So the workmen worked, and the work was completed by them, and they set the house of God in its state, and strengthened it.
14 And when they had finished it, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, from which were made vessels for the house of the LORD, even vessels for ministering, and to offer with, and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. 18 Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold found in the treasures of the house of the LORD and the king's house, and sent them to Hazael king of Syria. Then he departed from Jerusalem.
