  • Dan 11:2-9 : 2 And now I will show you the truth. Behold, three more kings shall stand in Persia, and the fourth shall be far richer than all of them: and by his strength, through his riches, he shall stir up everyone against the kingdom of Greece. 3 And a mighty king shall stand up, who shall rule with great dominion and do according to his will. 4 And when he stands up, his kingdom shall be broken and divided toward the four winds of heaven; not to his descendants, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be uprooted, even for others besides them. 5 And the king of the south shall be strong, also one of his princes; and he shall be stronger than him and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion. 6 And at the end of some years, they shall join themselves together; for the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of her authority; neither shall he stand, nor his authority: but she shall be given up, along with those who brought her, and he who fathered her, and he who strengthened her in these times. 7 But out of a branch of her roots, one shall stand in his place, who shall come with an army, enter the fortress of the king of the north, and deal against them, and shall prevail: 8 And shall also carry captive into Egypt their gods, with their princes and their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north. 9 So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom and shall return to his own land. 10 But his sons shall be stirred up and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and one shall certainly come and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return and be stirred up, even to his fortress. 11 And the king of the south shall be moved with anger, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand. 12 And when he has taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened by it. 13 For the king of the north shall return and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches. 14 And in those times many shall stand up against the king of the south: also the violent ones among your people shall lift themselves up to fulfill the vision; but they shall fall. 15 So the king of the north shall come, and build a siege mound, and take the fortified city: and the forces of the south shall not withstand him, neither his chosen people, nor shall there be any strength to withstand. 16 But he who comes against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed. 17 He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, nor be for him. 18 After this, he shall turn his face to the coastlands and shall take many: but a ruler for his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach, he shall cause it to turn upon him. 19 Then he shall turn his face toward the fortress of his own land: but he shall stumble and fall, and not be found. 20 Then in his place shall stand a collector of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within a few days, he shall be destroyed, neither in anger nor in battle.

But there is a God in heaven that reveals secrets, and makes known to King Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, are these.

As for you, O king, your thoughts came into your mind upon your bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he who reveals secrets makes known to you what shall come to pass.

But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes who shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that you might understand the thoughts of your heart.

You, O king, saw, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and its form was awesome.

Its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay.

You watched until a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces.

Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, so that no trace of them was found: and the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation before the king.

You, O king, are a king of kings, for the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength, and glory.

And wherever the children of men dwell, or the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens, he has given them into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all. You are this head of gold.

And after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to you, and a third kingdom of bronze, which shall rule over all the earth.

And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron, for as much as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and as iron that crushes all these, it shall break in pieces and crush.

And as you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter's clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it some of the strength of the iron, for as much as you saw the iron mixed with miry clay.

And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile.

And as you saw iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men, but they shall not hold together, even as iron does not mix with clay.

And in the days of these kings, the God of heaven shall set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

For as much as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God has made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and its interpretation sure.
