15 Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Why do you deal this way with your servants?
16 There is no straw given to your servants, and they say to us, Make bricks: and behold, your servants are beaten; but the fault is in your own people.
17 But he said, You are idle, you are idle: therefore you say, Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.
18 Go therefore now, and work; for no straw shall be given you, yet you shall deliver the quota of bricks.
19 And the officers of the children of Israel realized they were in trouble when it was said, You shall not diminish anything from your bricks of your daily task.
10 Come, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it happen, that when any war breaks out, they join also with our enemies, and fight against us, and so go up out of the land.
11 Therefore they set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.
12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.
13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel serve with rigor:
14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, which they made them serve, was with rigor.
5 And they spoke to Moses, saying, "The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the LORD commanded to be done."
6 And Moses gave the command, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, "Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary." So the people were restrained from bringing.

15 Moreover there are workmen with you in abundance, stone cutters and workers of stone and timber, and all kinds of skillful men for every kind of work.
5 And let them deliver it into the hand of those who do the work, who have the oversight of the house of the LORD: and let them give it to those who do the work which is in the house of the LORD, to repair the breaches of the house,
13 Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labor in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for mere vanity?
11 Not so; go now, you who are men, and serve the LORD; for that is what you desired. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.
