And he said to him, See, I have accepted you in this matter also, that I will not overthrow this city for which you have spoken.

20 Look now, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape there, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him.
20 And the LORD said, Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and their sin is very grievous,
21 I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to me; and if not, I will know.
22 And the men turned their faces from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.
23 And Abraham drew near and said, Will you also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
24 Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city; will you also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are within it?
25 Far be it from you to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
26 And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.
27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord, who am but dust and ashes.
28 Suppose there should lack five of the fifty righteous; will you destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find forty-five there, I will not destroy it.
29 And he spoke to him yet again and said, Suppose there should be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for the sake of forty.
30 And he said to him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak; suppose thirty should be found there. And he said, I will not do it if I find thirty there.
31 And he said, Behold now, I have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord; suppose twenty should be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for the sake of twenty.
32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but this once; suppose ten should be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.
28 And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and he saw, and behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.
29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the middle of the upheaval, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot dwelt.
17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing;
12 And the men said to Lot, Do you have anyone else here? Son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and anyone you have in the city, bring them out of this place.
13 For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD has sent us to destroy it.
9 Is not the whole land before you? separate yourself, I pray you, from me: if you will take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if you depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.
10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as you come to Zoar.
