2 Go and proclaim in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus says the LORD; I remember you, the kindness of your youth, the love of your engagements, when you went after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
1 Hear this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.
2 The virgin of Israel has fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.

6 Therefore, behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, and make a wall, so she shall not find her paths.

20 Surely, as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so have you dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, says the LORD.
21 A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.
22 Return, you backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come to you; for you are the LORD our God.
1 They say, If a man divorces his wife, and she leaves him and becomes another man's wife, shall he return to her again? Would not that land be greatly defiled? But you have played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, says the LORD.
2 Lift up your eyes to the high places and see where you have not been violated. On the roads you have sat for them, like an Arabian in the wilderness; and you have polluted the land with your whoredoms and your wickedness.
6 The LORD also said to me in the days of Josiah the king, Have you seen what backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there has played the harlot.
7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn to me. But she did not return. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
21 Turn us back to You, O LORD, and we shall be restored; renew our days as of old.
10 Pass through, pass through the gates; prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway; remove the stones; lift up a banner for the people.
4 Why do you boast in the valleys, your flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? Who trusted in her treasures, saying, Who will come against me?
31 O generation, behold the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness to Israel? a land of darkness? why do my people say, We are lords; we will come no more to you?
32 Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.
33 Why do you beautify your way to seek love? therefore you have also taught the wicked ones your ways.
31 In that you build your eminent place at the head of every way, and make your high place in every street; and have not been as a harlot, that scorns payment;
18 Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will bring back the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwelling places; and the city shall be rebuilt on its own ruins, and the palace shall remain as it used to be.
19 Therefore thus says the LORD, If you return, then I will bring you again, and you shall stand before me: and if you take forth the precious from the vile, you shall be as my mouth: let them return to you; but return not you to them.
19 Your own wickedness shall correct you, and your backslidings shall reprove you: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that you have forsaken the LORD your God, and that my fear is not in you, says the Lord GOD of hosts.
20 For from of old I have broken your yoke, and burst your bonds; and you said, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree you wandered, playing the harlot.
13 Therefore thus says the LORD; Ask now among the nations, who has heard such things: the virgin of Israel has done a very horrible thing.
8 Be instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from you; lest I make you desolate, a land not inhabited.
27 I have set you as a tower and a fortress among my people, that you may know and test their way.
10 Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and declare it in the distant isles, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock.
2 Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and drop your word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,
25 You have built your high place at every head of the way, and have made your beauty to be abhorred, and have opened your feet to everyone that passed by, and multiplied your whoredoms.
11 Now therefore go, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus says the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a plan against you: return now everyone from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.
16 Take a harp, go about the city, you harlot that has been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that you may be remembered.
21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk in it, when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left.
20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still: therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, says the LORD.
12 Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel: and because I will do this to you, prepare to meet your God, O Israel.
6 For the LORD has called you as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when you were refused, says your God.
55 When your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former state, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former state, then you and your daughters shall return to your former state.
17 And there is hope in your future, says the LORD, that your children shall come again to their own border.
18 Your way and your deeds have procured these things for you; this is your wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reaches to your heart.
8 O Hope of Israel, its Savior in time of trouble, why should You be as a stranger in the land, and as a traveler who turns aside to stay for a night?
6 So the couriers went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, You children of Israel, return to the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and He will return to you who are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.
8 How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I deliver you, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I set you like Zeboim? My heart is turned within me, my compassion is kindled together.
11 Also, O Judah, he has set a harvest for you, when I return the captivity of my people.
14 And shall say, Cast up, cast up, prepare the way, take the stumblingblock out of the way of my people.
