And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, Therefore we return to you now, that you may go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.

2 And Gilead's wife bore him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they drove Jephthah out, and said to him, You shall not inherit in our father's house; for you are the son of a strange woman.

7 And Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, Did you not hate me, and expel me out of my father's house? Why have you come to me now when you are in distress?
17 Then the children of Ammon were gathered together and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together and encamped in Mizpah.
18 And the people and leaders of Gilead said to one another, Who is the man that will begin the fight against the children of Ammon? He shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
1 And the men of Ephraim gathered together, and went northward, and said to Jephthah, Why did you pass over to fight against the children of Ammon, and did not call us to go with you? We will burn your house over you with fire.
2 And Jephthah said to them, I and my people were in great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, you did not deliver me out of their hands.
3 And when I saw that you did not deliver me, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand: why then have you come up to me this day, to fight against me?
4 Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead struck Ephraim, because they said, You Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites.
5 And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it happened, that when those Ephraimites who had escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said to him, Are you an Ephraimite? If he said, No;
27 Therefore I have not sinned against you, but you do wrong to war against me: let the LORD the Judge be judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon.
28 However, the king of the children of Ammon did not listen to the words of Jephthah which he sent him.
29 Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he advanced towards the children of Ammon.
30 And Jephthah vowed a vow to the LORD, and said, If you will indeed deliver the children of Ammon into my hands,
31 Then it shall be, that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD'S, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.
32 So Jephthah advanced towards the children of Ammon to fight against them; and the LORD delivered them into his hands.
22 Then the men of Israel said to Gideon, Rule over us, both you, and your son, and your grandson also: for you have delivered us from the hand of Midian.
11 Therefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spoke to us, saying, Take provisions with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say to them, We are your servants: therefore now make a treaty with us.

15 And they came to the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, in the land of Gilead, and spoke with them, saying,
4 Come up to me and help me, so that we may attack Gibeon, for it has made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.
7 And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then Jephthah the Gileadite died, and was buried in one of the cities of Gilead.
14 And you answered me and said, The thing which you have spoken is good for us to do.
9 But now this is what we will do to Gibeah: we will go up by lot against it;
18 And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Who shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.
1 Then we turned and went up the way to Bashan, and Og, the king of Bashan, came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
10 Therefore the men of Jabesh said, "Tomorrow we will come out to you, and you shall do with us all that seems good to you."
8 Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of my head; Judah is my lawgiver;
33 Then all the Midianites, the Amalekites, and the children of the east gathered together, went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel.
