    32And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the leaders, returned from the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, to the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again.

    33And the thing pleased the children of Israel, and the children of Israel blessed God, and did not intend to go up against them in battle, to destroy the land where the children of Reuben and Gad dwelt.

    34And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad called the altar Ed: for it shall be a witness between us that the LORD is God.

    25For the LORD has made the Jordan a border between us and you, children of Reuben and children of Gad; you have no part in the LORD. So your children might make our children cease from fearing the LORD.

    26Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering nor for sacrifice,

  • 14For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their fathers' houses, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to their fathers' houses, have received their inheritance; and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance:

  • 1Then the heads of the fathers of the Levites approached Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel;

  • 8And we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.

  • 3And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,

  • 16And to the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gilead even to the river Arnon, half the valley, and the border even to the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;

  • 6And they went to Joshua at the camp in Gilgal, and said to him and to the men of Israel, We have come from a far country: now therefore make a treaty with us.

  • 14But the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities to Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.
