    20 Therefore they commanded the children of Benjamin, saying, Go and lie in wait in the vineyards;

    21 And watch, and behold, if the daughters of Shiloh come out to dance in dances, then come out of the vineyards, and each man seize his wife from the daughters of Shiloh, and go to the land of Benjamin.

    22 And it shall be, when their fathers or their brothers come to us to complain, that we will say to them, Be kind to them for our sakes, because we did not reserve each man his wife in the war; for you did not give them to them at this time, so you would not be guilty.

    23 And the children of Benjamin did so, and took wives according to their number, from those who danced, whom they caught; and they went and returned to their inheritance, and rebuilt the cities, and dwelt in them.

    14 But the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities to Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.

    15 And the children of Benjamin were numbered at that time out of the cities twenty-six thousand men who drew sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, who numbered seven hundred chosen men.

    36 So the children of Benjamin saw that they were struck; for the men of Israel gave way to the Benjamites, because they trusted to the ambushers which they had set beside Gibeah.
