(Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel had gone up to Mizpeh.) Then the children of Israel said, Tell us, how did this wickedness occur?

    36So the children of Benjamin saw that they were struck; for the men of Israel gave way to the Benjamites, because they trusted to the ambushers which they had set beside Gibeah.

    37And the ambushers hastened, and rushed upon Gibeah; and the ambushers drew themselves along, and struck all the city with the edge of the sword.
