24 And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told to your servants how the LORD your God commanded His servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were very afraid for our lives because of you, and have done this thing.
25 And now, see, we are in your hand: do to us as it seems good and right to you to do.
15 And Joshua made peace with them, and made a treaty with them, to let them live: and the leaders of the congregation swore to them.
16 And it happened at the end of three days after they had made a treaty with them, that they heard that they were their neighbors, and that they lived among them.
17 And the children of Israel journeyed and came to their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, Chephirah, Beeroth, and Kirjathjearim.
1 And it happened, when all the kings on this side of the Jordan, in the hills, and in the valleys, and along all the coasts of the great sea opposite Lebanon, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard of it;
2 That they gathered themselves together to fight with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord.
3 And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and to Ai,
4 They acted craftily, and went and pretended to be ambassadors, and took old sacks on their donkeys, and wine bottles, old, torn, and bound up;
5 And patched up old shoes on their feet, and old garments on them; and all the bread of their provision was dry and moldy.
6 And the men of Gibeon sent to Joshua to the camp at Gilgal, saying, Do not let your hand be slack from your servants; come up to us quickly, and save us and help us, for all the kings of the Amorites who dwell in the mountains have gathered together against us.
16 And they answered Joshua, saying, All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us, we will go.
28 And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with you: and we said, Let there now be an oath between us, even between us and you, and let us make a covenant with you;
15 And they came to the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, in the land of Gilead, and spoke with them, saying,
9 And Joshua said to the children of Israel, Come here and hear the words of the LORD your God.
4 Come up to me and help me, so that we may attack Gibeon, for it has made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.
23 So the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that befell them:
22 And every one of you came near to me, and said, Let us send men before us, and they shall search out the land for us, and bring us back word of the way we must go up and of the cities we will come to.
2 And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men here tonight from the children of Israel to search out the country.
15 Then Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp at Gilgal.
6 Then the children of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal; and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, You know the thing that the LORD said to Moses the man of God concerning me and you in Kadeshbarnea.

22 But Joshua had said to the two men who had spied out the land, Go into the prostitute's house, and bring out from there the woman, and all that she has, as you swore to her.
12 And to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, Joshua spoke, saying,
1 Then Nahash the Ammonite came up and encamped against Jabesh-gilead, and all the men of Jabesh said to Nahash, "Make a covenant with us, and we will serve you."
