  • 12And to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, Joshua spoke, saying,

  • 13And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, there stood a man opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand; and Joshua went to him and said to him, Are you for us or for our adversaries?

  • 10Come, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it happen, that when any war breaks out, they join also with our enemies, and fight against us, and so go up out of the land.

  • 16Then will we give our daughters to you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.

  • 22And every one of you came near to me, and said, Let us send men before us, and they shall search out the land for us, and bring us back word of the way we must go up and of the cities we will come to.

  • 6And the men of Gibeon sent to Joshua to the camp at Gilgal, saying, Do not let your hand be slack from your servants; come up to us quickly, and save us and help us, for all the kings of the Amorites who dwell in the mountains have gathered together against us.
