15But the men were very good to us, and we were not harmed, nor did we miss anything, as long as we were associating with them, when we were in the fields.
16They were a wall to us both by night and day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep.
21These men are peaceable with us, therefore let them dwell in the land and trade therein, for the land, indeed, is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us as wives, and let us give them our daughters.
22Only in this will the men consent to dwell with us, to become one people, if every male among us is circumcised as they are circumcised.
23Will not their livestock and their substance and every beast of theirs be ours? Only let us consent to them, and they will dwell with us.
24And the spies saw a man come out of the city, and they said to him, Show us, we pray you, the entrance into the city, and we will show you mercy.
11We are all one man's sons; we are honest men, your servants are not spies.
32And it shall be, if you go with us, yes, it shall be, that whatever good the LORD shall do to us, the same we will do to you.
9If they say to us, 'Wait until we come to you,' then we will stand still in our place and not go up to them.
10But if they say, 'Come up to us,' then we will go up, for the LORD has delivered them into our hand; and this will be a sign to us."
31And we said to him, We are honest men; we are not spies:
10And you shall dwell with us, and the land shall be before you; dwell and trade therein, and acquire possessions there.
7And they said to him, Why does my lord say these words? God forbid that your servants should do such a thing as this:
8Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks' mouths, we brought back to you from the land of Canaan: how then should we steal silver or gold from your lord's house?
22And it shall be, when their fathers or their brothers come to us to complain, that we will say to them, Be kind to them for our sakes, because we did not reserve each man his wife in the war; for you did not give them to them at this time, so you would not be guilty.
33And the man, the lord of the country, said to us, Hereby shall I know that you are honest men; leave one of your brothers here with me, and take food for the famine of your households, and be gone:
34And bring your youngest brother to me: then shall I know that you are not spies, but that you are honest men: so will I deliver you your brother, and you shall trade in the land.
11Therefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spoke to us, saying, Take provisions with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say to them, We are your servants: therefore now make a treaty with us.
22But Joshua had said to the two men who had spied out the land, Go into the prostitute's house, and bring out from there the woman, and all that she has, as you swore to her.
20Then he said to her, Stand in the door of the tent, and if anyone comes and asks you, Is there a man here? you shall say, No.
15But in this will we consent unto you: If you will become as we are, that every male of you be circumcised,
16Then will we give our daughters to you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.
24And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told to your servants how the LORD your God commanded His servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were very afraid for our lives because of you, and have done this thing.
7And they said, The man asked us specifically about our state and kindred, saying, Is your father still alive? Do you have another brother? And we answered him according to these words: could we know that he would say, Bring your brother down?
19And he said, They were my brothers, even the sons of my mother: as the LORD lives, if you had saved them alive, I would not kill you.
23Now therefore swear to me by God that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my grandson. But according to the kindness that I have done to you, you shall do to me, and to the land in which you have sojourned.
