15And it happened, when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and God had brought their plan to nothing, that we all returned to the wall, each to his work.
16And it came to pass from that time on, that half of my servants did the work, and the other half held the spears, the shields, the bows, and the armor; and the leaders stood behind all the house of Judah.
17Those who built on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked in the construction, and with the other held a weapon.
18For every builder had his sword girded at his side as he built. And the one who sounded the trumpet was beside me.
19Then I said to the nobles, the rulers, and the rest of the people, The work is great and extensive, and we are separated on the wall, far from one another.

27At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to celebrate the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, stringed instruments, and with harps.
3And they said to me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.

14And all the army of the Chaldeans, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down all the walls of Jerusalem all around.
30After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another section. After him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah opposite his chamber.
8Next to him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next to him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem to the broad wall.
22At the same time I also said to the people, Let every man and his servant stay at night in Jerusalem, that they may be a guard to us by night, and a labor force by day.
15And upon every high tower, and upon every fortified wall,
9Then we asked those elders and said to them, Who commanded you to build this house and to finish these walls?
38Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananel to the corner gate.
14After this, he built a wall outside the city of David on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, reaching the entrance of the Fish Gate, and encircled Ophel, raising it to a great height, and put commanders of war in all the fortified cities of Judah.
